I'm wondering just how she became a TV personality.

I was curious, as well.

She has an amazing background.

Sounds like she's an intelligent, hard-working woman...and success is unlimited w/ credentials like that!

---------

Giuliana DePandi was born in Naples, Italy in 1975. Her family moved to the United States, namely Washington D.C., during her childhood. Fluent only in Italian, Giuliana prides herself on the fact that she taught herself English by watching day-time soaps and other television shows.

After graduating from Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Maryland in 1992, Giuliana enrolled into the University of Maryland and received a B.A. in journalism from the Philip Merrill School of Journalism in 1996 and, later, a Masters degree in the same subject from the American University in D.C.

During her career, she has managed to write for numerous Entertainment fields, including "Detour" magazine and, most notably, as co-host/anchor for E! News Live (1996). Not forgetting stints reporting about The Pentagon and White House prior to E!.

It is with E! that she has managed to achieve a name for herself. In June 2006, she also released a book entitled "Think Like a Guy: How to Get a Guy by Thinking Like One", a dating advice book for women in the first stages of a relationship.

With this venture, she has been in every aspect of the Entertainment field:
Print (magazines, books);
Small Screen (E! News Live (1996);
Guest spots on episodic TV);
Big Screen (scenes in Malibu's Most Wanted (2003) and Paparazzi(2004)

Trivia:

Moved to Los Angeles one week after getting her master's degree in Journalism. With two degrees under her belt, her first Hollywood job was working in the mail room for power agent Michael Ovitz, where she was paid minimum wage and delivered packages to stars like Leonardo DiCaprio.

Featured in People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful of 2006 issue. Voted one of Maxim Magazine's Hot 100 of 2003.

She has her line of clothing on HSN. And their restaurant in Chicago is very good. I know they have one child a boy. Did they ever adopt another one ? I know at one point they were talking about it. Thanks.

Those who think G is famous just because haven't really looked into her background.  She is very accomplished and educated.  She didn't just happen to be in the right place at the right time.

No.  I used to watch their reality show and saw her trials with IVF and I believe they were trying again with the same gestational carrier but it didn't work out.

I thought they had a restaurant in both Chicago and Washington D.C.

To SIDSMOM,

Thank you so much for the background information on Giuliana Rancic.

I never did bother to look her up on Google because there was something about her I just didn't care for.  But she is an intelligent, accomplished woman, and I have to respect that.

She's not a celebrity (like so many that think they are), she's just a personality.  She speaks correct grammar and folks thinks she's something special for that.  Goes to show you that knowing how to speak correctly goes a very long way.

That's just as rude as saying a person needs to diet.
