Hope you are doing well.  That was a very good outcome for the surgery.  Now on to rest & easy recovery!

The discharge orders are in place and I'll be heading home within the next couple of hours. Time for my handsome male nurse to take over. 😉

Hi all.  I wanted to update everyone, to let you know that I'm doing really well here at home.  I finally got in the shower today.  My incisions were closed with a surgical superglue, so no dressings to worry about.  I washed and rinsed but avoided too much direct water continuing to rain down on the area. It's all fine.  DH and I have been walking a few times everyday, roughly 1/4-1/3 of a mile each time.  I'm able to keep my body tall and upright and take a normal stride. If I do too much, I start feeling some strain in my abdomen.  My pain has lessened considerably.  I wouldn't even call it pain anymore per se, but discomfort.  I think I can d/c the pain meds and go to Tylenol as needed.   The one thing that bothers me is that my plumbing hasn't fully awakened yet.  I'm hoping things will start moving soon.

My surgeon called the other day to check on me and let me know that  evidence of cancer was found via pathology, which he expected, so we all did the right thing in going forward with the operation.  He's confident that I'll continue to do well but will have periodic scans to keep tabs on the remaining kidney.

All is well. 👍🙌🏻🧡

@JeanLouiseFinch  -  So glad that you are doing well.  Hopefully the plumbing will kick back in any day now.  Thank goodness you won't need any further treatments.  A true blessing.  Life is good!

You sound fantastic and glad to hear you are healing well.  Sweet potatoes tend to get the plumbing moving along. I cut slices and roast with some olive oil salt & pepper. Roasting whole too.

Glad you are getting up and moving.  That is so important.  It is wonderful you have a doctor that calls and checks on you.
