Re: Is Anyone Else Put Out w/ Excessive Packaging

It’s more common for me have problems with insufficient packaging. Case in point, a pitcher I purchased from Anthropologie that was crammed into a too-small box with minimal bubble wrap. Arrived in several dozen pieces.

@Mz iMac

My message and title was clear enough to know what I was talking about.  Everyone else seemed to know.

Not me...if I was put out about excessive packaging I wouldn't have anything shipped.

doesn't bother me. The cartons and sometimes the packing papers become toys for my cats. 😆

It's one of my pet peeves.  This has to be one of the worst offenders.  I had Lincoln points (that I didn't know about till recently) and chose to buy 3 new fragrance/scent cartiridges in some of the scents that didn't come with the car.  See the three small white boxes on top of the larger boxes?  ONE of those scent cartridges came in each box.  They were all ordered at the same time, same address and goodness knows there was plenty of room in one mailing box.  That's ridiculous!

I have it happen and agree it is total waste with the huge paper boxes thst sit outside your front door.

In Florida they creep into the openings of these folded over  boxed packages.They have hitched a ride into your home  and voila there comes another one to be found.  I can't stand it.

Now I shake all packages and have a knife to open all of these packages outside of my home, I'm done!

And I think the delivery guys mean well yet they place the packages right against the wall near the front door (duh) for the critters' to enter. I kick them back away from the house and open all before entrance these days and use a knife to open. Plus the garbage clean up all that is included with endless paper for tiny box stuffed inside?  I caught a gecko this morning due to this and found his way up to my bar into make up. Gross! They are all over the place in Florida hopping a ride into your home. (I prefer sealed plastic packages  for absolutely no entrance.)

I would rather have excess packaging than damaged purchases. Many times I reuse the packaging. I recycle as well.

Re: Is Anyone Else Put Out w/ Excessive Packaging

The OP was about excessive packaging.

Some are concerned about the disposal of it. Some are concerned about the environmental impact from it. Some are concerned about both, while others are concerned about neither.

Neither aspect was specifically addressed so I found the comments on @Mz iMac's part is easily understandable.

I don't mind the excess if it keeps my purchases intact.
