I cannot recomend buying a Japanese car and sending our money overseas.  I buy American.  Chevy or Ford.

I'll but whatever car suits my wants and needs best, at the fairest price, and I don't care if it comes from Mars.

I have driven a Subaru for 40 years. I've lost count of how many I've owned and loved...until the one I just bought in March. It has a dashboard screen that could rival my large TV. It is terribly distracting and it's hard to find anything because it's just too big and busy. I miss the CD player because I can't listen to my collection of French lessons but I don't think any cars offer CD players anymore.

The most frustrating thing, however, is on many new cars. I think it's supposed to save fuel. The first time I stepped on the brake, I thought the car had stalled. Having driven a standard shift for many years, I knew that eerie feeling....but I was in an automatic transmission car. When I stepped on the gas again, it was not a smooth transition. I spent a lot of money for this Subaru Legacy, which is made in Indiana, by the way, but I will look elsewhere next time.

You can turn disable the Auto start-stop in your new Legacy (see below). I have the Forester and have to remember to turn it off every time I start it up (annoying).

The Auto Stop-Start can be disabled on your new 2020 Subaru Outback, Forester, Legacy, and Crosstrek. It’s different for each model, and the problem is, on some models like Forester, you cannot permanently disable it. The system will always default to an on position once you turn the car off. So every time you get back in your car, you have to manually disable the system again.

The new Outback and Legacy, does have a feature on its new 11.6-inch touchscreen menu and you can disable the system. When you are on the home screen, push the car icon button to change the settings and then click on “Others” allowing you to turn off the Auto Stop-Start system. The Auto Stop-Start on the new 2020 Subaru Outback, Legacy, Forester, and Crosstrek can be annoying but it will save fuel if you live in an urban area.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this but for a few years car makers are not putting CD players in cars anymore.
