I would not say hate, because it's such a strong word. LOL However, I am not a fan of my 7 year old Nissan Altima. I never purchase used cars, always new, but then I do not switch out my cars every few years, for the latest and the greatest. I intend on keeping this one for at least 10 years, and I service my car religiously. In fact last week I spent almost $500.00 having it serviced.
That is the crux of my problem, for as much as I maintain my car, I have had numerous problems with it. The list is endless: Alternator, Gear Shifter, Compressor, the worse problem that I had was last year. I was exiting the freeway, at a good clip, and went to turn my car and it would not turn. I had to fight and put everything into it, to make my car turn in time. It freaked me out. I took the car to the dealership and it took them two days to figure out why it was doing that. Mainly, because they could not duplicate the problem. Finally they figured it out, and fixed it. By the way, these have not been inexpensive problems to have fixed, especially at the dealership.
I will never, ever purchase another Nissan.
I am sort of sad to hear you talk about the Subaru, because that is one that has been on my radar to look at in a few years.

What has the dealer said about your problem? Maybe it just needs an adjustment. We have had Subarus since 1989 and I wouldn't have any other car. Loved them all.

I have an older car, a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am, that we bought brand new. (My car before was also a Grand Am.) I love my car! It has a V6 motor for power and speed, 16 inch tires for a great grip on the road, very comfortable seats, and the best handling. Minimal electronics mean no headaches about fancy components. Yes, it has a CD player, because I still like and use CDs. I know the younger folks download and/or stream all their music.
AC stopped working more than a decade ago, the radio buttons are ineligible, and there have been a few leaks in the past, but I have never driven a more fun and better car!
I keep getting everything fixed/replaced as it breaks, and the car always passes inspection. Sometimes when our other newer car doesn't work, this car always starts first time, every time, and gets us there.
I am so sad that they stopped making the Grand Am. One day I will have to retire this precious motor vehicle, but until then, when I take the wheel it is always a pleasure!

I'm sorry you hate your car. Don't most new vehicles not have a CD player? I have a 2019 Jeep Sahara and I adore that thing. Then again I thought long and hard about what I wanted and I tend to get attached to my vehicles.
Edited to fix all my typos. Too stubborn to wear reading glasses all the time

I have been leasing Subarus since 2003. Won't drive anything else. I've had the Tribeca (no longer made), Forester and 4 Outbacks.
I currently have a 2017 Outback, which I will be turning in this month. You know, I don't even know if I have a CD player in the car! I do have sirius radio and I listen to the music on my iphone, but no idea about a CD player. Hmmm ...
I cannot adjust the radio if the car is in reverse.
But I do love Subaru's!

I am not a big fan of my car.
I wanted a different make and well due to the Sunami in 2011 things were not to be.
I bought the car I have because it was one that my father felt comfortable in. My father had just had a stroke and this car was one that he felt he would be able to get into and out of and not be uncomfortable riding in it. (Unfortunately I am coming upon the third anniversary of my father's passing in two days.) I wanted to make my father happy.
My husband needed a car that was good in the winter so he took over my older car.
I was able to get a deal on the car.
It is treated well and I do all the required maintenace --I guess it is just not the car I wanted which was the same make and model of the car that my husband got from me just a newer year.
I paid good money for this car so I do take care of it. I do not have money to burn.

Nope! I love my Detroit muscle! Thank you Dodge Brothers! When I start her up, the Hemi never fails me!

Life is too short today. Why don't you trade in this car and find something you like?

I have an antique Volvo - much loved, has never let me down.
What year is the Volvo? I bought a used Volvo that I loved and it drove well and felt as if I were in a tank.Very safe feeling. But, the ac gave out twice and I finally donated it to a charity. Summers where I live can get very hot.

I've been a loyal Subaru owner since 1986 ( '86 GL wagon, '93 Legacy wagon with all the bells & whistles, 2003 Forester & my current car, a 2017 Forester Touring)
I get what you're saying about a CD player, my 2003 Forester had a 6 CD changer in it & it was great. My 2017 has a CD player, but it's a single CD player, just like the one that was in my '93 Legacy. I still play CDs in my car & it's a PITA to have to change them when I want to listen to something else & I've never gotten into putting music on my iPhone, even though it's synched up to my car, so I can answer calls in the car (which I ignore). When I ordered my 2017, my saleslady told me it might be the last year they even offered any sort of CD player at all, so since yours is 2018, it sounds like that came to pass. She said most people listen thru their phone, but I'm not most people & I like listening to CDs. I'm old & cranky, shoot me!
With all the nav stuff & other fancy things on my car, I don't know how hard it would be to change the CD player out to a multi-CD changer. I may check into it at some point,
