How can a TILI go to back order?

Not waitlist, but to back order.  They certainly can't be assembling new kits.  It was the one with the mugs that got marked down to 19.99 or so.

Yes! I saw that one too, and really, really thought about buying it. I like the mug, the socks, and the hat. But by the time I tried to order it, it was sold out. I wonder if it depends on how many returns they anticipate they're going to receive? I'm not sure, but I hope you receive it and enjoy it.

How could the WWC Tsv dress that I ordered at 12:15 am go directly to back order?  They are selling merchandise they don't actually have.
