We had another short snow shower, everything is icy and snowy. I did get my Dewey cookie delivery today. I am not hungry for anything sweet but I will give feedback when I do try them. Finishing some apple pie from thanksgiving still. Tomorrow my brother is driving Sarah and I to visit my sister. It is so cold I feel like just staying home and keeping warm but I do hear it will warm up a bit tomorrow. I bet the roads will be slushy.

Had leftovers today and cleared out a lot of my refrigerator. PBS has two shows on tonight I am looking forward to, one about France another on visions of Italy. I love traveling in my arm chair.

Hey there @hullie,   I would love to ride in the car as your group travels to visit your sister.  Warm and cozy in the car while you're out in the snowy wonderland!  A treat for me!  Enjoy your visit! Heart

What are your favorite cookies to bake for the holidays?

I use to bake up a storm and make candy.  With it just being the two of us now and not hosting a Cookie Exchange I don't do near as much.  I always make the shortbead cookies with craisins and white chocolate chips, a pumpkin-frosted cookie and a few others but those are our favorite this time of year.  I also make Bugles filled with peanut butter and then just the end dipped in white chocolate followed by some sprinkles.  They end up looking like fur hats.  I have to have white chocolate-covered pretzels, some fudge, and sometimes caramels.  I doubt I will be making all this since I have oral surgery scheduled for next Monday and then I will be on a soft foods diet along with just liquids for ten days.

@Sassy7356,  I use to make peanut butter fudge and heavenly balls for our Christmas family gatherings.  Now that they are catered, desert is included.  The heavenly balls are a recipe that I got from Rocky.  Crumbled vanilla waffers, sweet condensed milk, pecans, coconut, rolled into balls and then rolled in confectioners sugar.  I can't stop eating those.

I wish that your oral surgery wasn't until after the new year.  But you can whip up some special cookies soon.  A sweet way to ring in the new year! Heart

Happy December everyone!  The Spirit of Christmas and what it means to us is what makes it the most wonderful time of the year!

I have a few things to do outside and then I can put my Christmas decorations out on the porch.  I don't have anything prepared to put out on the lawn.  And I've changed my mind again on the mens gifts.  And I still need to find a special gift for my sisters to open.  It's part of the hussle and bustle of getting ready.  There's plenty of time. Smiley Happy

Like your posts have said, break out the Christmas music and movies and deck the halls!  Have fun getting ready and enjoy every day to it's fullest!  God Bless us Everyone! Heart
