Re: Heel surgery - I'm scared

@MamaWick   oh Mama!!  Oweee!  I am sending you wishes for a wonderful and easy recovery.  I have had several surgeries, all of them I stressed big time over. Usually, when surgery was done, it went along better than I thought. There is always pain for a bit, hopefully relieved by drugs.  Getting around just came about. One thing my mom taught me when she had foot surgery at 85...invention comes from desperation lol. She had these padded kitchen chairs with those roller things on bottom. She shooted all over her house.  I have a chair like that now , I keep in garage for just those purposes!!!  I have a walker, but that chair got me around better, with less stress on the shoulder.
It's a long time to be off feet.  I wish you well, and back to better than ever in no time

Peace,

Shoekitty

@MamaWick

Oh gosh!  I can understand your trepidation while recovering.

I have no advice or tips.  Just sending prayers for a safe & stressless recovery.

Re: Heel surgery - I'm scared

I had to stay off one leg for 6 MONTHS.    I definitely "cheated" a couple times when I had to run to the bathroom in the middle of the night...

Re: Heel surgery - I'm scared

@MamaWick As I recall, the knee scooter is very stable and supportive.  It's maneuverable and can go down halls and into small areas easily.  I can see a wheelchair for outside trips.   It's easy to lock your wheels as needed on the knee scooter too.   I have no doubt that Papa Wick will take wonderful care of you!

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.

@MamaWick   is today the day?    Please as soon as you can let us know how you are.  I am anxious to see how it all went.  Hopefully you are kicking back, relaxing and "under the influence".  lol lol!
