Actually you can make almond milk if you have a good blender like a Vitamix.  Its just almonds , water and flavorings.

and the FDA wants to call almond "milk" and oat "milk" milk. It should be called almond or oat water and i'm not sure why mfgs can call it milk? another clueless idea from the FDA.

@wagirl     interesting fact that the percentage of almonds in the almond milk you purchase is only about 2%... the rest is WATER. So basically you are buying water.  The almond milk you make like you did is probably much richer and tastier.

@SeaMaiden ---the almond milk I made,  was ok, reminded me of non fat milk ,but prob because it was JUST almonds and water. --have to say,  I prefer my fave--Blue Diamond Unsweetened and even most the store brands are good too.

what a marketing lie! it's NOT a dairy product and therefore not "milk"; it's juice.

I left after waiting an hour for them to figure out how to install the automatic milking machines on the trees....

Another gimmick for a population that will buy anything today.

"Milk" is a white liquid food produced by the mammary glands of mammals."

Full stop.

My only question is...What kind of animal is a "magnesia"?

(Milk of Magnesia)!!!

I love almonds, but they are a bad crop. They require excessive water and are highly sprayed with pesticides. Almond milk at the store is generally a trash product.
