Someone posted this picture of the Harvest Moon on my Nextdoor last night.

A reader chimed in it doesn't even look real and the OP was highly insulted. I have to admit I felt the same way initially, but either way it is kind of an interesting picture.

one reason it doesn't look real is that the airplane has propeller.  Didn't know they still exist.

Looks like a military plane.  It's possible.

There's a small commuter airline company here who flies along the front range between Pueblo and Fort Collins, Colorado. The name of that company is Rocky Mountain Airways but us locals call it Rocky Mountain Scareways.  I've heard the ride is rough and scary. Never been on any of their planes. I think they went out of business.

You can see the jet trails from the engines.  Would be odd to fake that, but I suppose it could happen.

Still a nice photo!

@SilleeMee.  Looks like an old turbo prop from a regional airline operated by Continental Airlines.

Yes!  I saw this Harvest Moon.  I'm kind of afraid riding in a car because of a scary  experience but anyway I had to take a ride very early in the morning and it was still dark.  tI find that a ba bra moon licht nicht nonicht ( very bright moonlit night)  LOL....helps indeed.  It was the past Friday and although the weather was fair, just a few clouds but clear enough there was no moon.  A day or two later I'm in the powder room at home I'm an early riser and I see this light and thought.....what is that???  I looked and thought WOW the Harves Moon!!!!  I was just a few days away from it.  It would have provided much light for a chicken like me!!!  LOL!!!!!  Murphy's Law, I guess.  LOL!!!!

Anyway, it was so pretty.  I just watched it until it went down.  I believe the moon is approx. 250,000 miles away.  That's pretty close.  Sometimes it looks very white but when it's really full and at its closest you can see the rusty color of it.  So interesting.  God is truly amazing.
