I get it, @Luvsmyfam . My kids and grandkids were supposed to come over like they do every Easter but I developed pink eye in both eyes. So now it's just me and the son who lives with me. He's staying far away from me (as I want him to) so it's a very quiet day here. I feel a bit down about it too but what can you do? I hope you find some way to perk yourself up. For me, this is a day about my faith so knowing what it represents is something I am focusing on. I hope you can find something to make your day better!

That is why I had our family Easter on Saturday, my grandchildren are married so they have other families to see as well on holidays so my gift to them is to take some of the stress away and have our get togethers on a day close to the holiday but not on the holiday. It feels the same folks! On Easter I went to church with my daughter and my boyfriend and then had a quiet day and cleaning up from the party on Saturday. My boyfriend and I had left over ham for dinner. I am Blessed and thankful.

What a thoughtful and loving way to handle holiday gatherings.  I wish more families would follow your example--it would eliminate so much stress and conflict.
