It's been a challenging day - came home and sat down to check a few things, including the forum, and found this post :-)  

Coincidently, the minute I spotted this post, my phone buzzed with an email birthday wish from you, Bernie. 

I am blessed to have met some of the nicest people on the boards - some who are now real life friends of mine.  It's funny how the universe brings people together.

Yes, tomorrow is the day I turn 57.. omg... when did that happen, lol?

I'm not one to fixate about the numbers, but they sure have started adding up quickly these last few years!  DH and I are going to IHOP (I love IHOP) for an early dinner tomorrow, then to Mom and Dad's for cake.  His "orders", like every birthday, are to buy me a lemon cake, the prettiest he can find.  It's a treat because I'm the one who bakes for everyone's birthday, many times even my own, so getting a cake that's already baked is AWESOME! (and yes, I've always been a cheap date)

Anyway, thank you all for the wishes.  It really did make my day.

Funny you should mention IHOP - was quite the breakfast destination for my and hubby back in the day.

@house_cat, that is a cute story about the lemon birthday cake! Whenever my DH asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I always said, "Bring me a cake!" Then, one year we bought a DQ and I finally got a cake!
