Sometimes the way they fix it at the salon just doesn't look right - glad you had time to play with it - I don't think your son would lie to you - it's probably very cute!

@Sweet_Serenity, Glad you like your new cut. I had a pixie cut over 3 months ago very short. I did not want it so short. Pixies can be different lengths. Anyway, I waited over 3 months to let it grow out and decided to go to someone else at the salon. Well, that person was 1/2 hr. behind so I ended up with the same stylist. I told her that my first cut was too short for me and she said she would just trim it. Well, she trimmed it a little too much again. She will not cut my hair again. The salon I go to has a training program and cuts are $20, $25 or $30 depending on experience. When they are $20 & $25 the manager looks at the cut too and will make any changes. Sr. stylists at the salon are charging $65. That is too high for a retiree. ![]()

@$65. Is ridiculous for a short hair cut..I just splurged @ a salon & paid $40.+ tip...back to Great Clips for me for a comparable cut for $14+ tip..it is a no-brainer for me!

My stylist has been having me come in every 4 weeks and I think that is too soon. Each time my hair gets a little shorter, because it hasn't grown the 1/2 " she cuts off. So I called her & cancelled my next appt. to allow it to grow a little.Actually , if I trim my bangs once I can let it go 2 months & by then we'll be in Pittsburgh where I have better choices on where to get it cut.

I bet it's really cute and flattering. When a guy gives a compliment like that, it's always right. I wish I could wear a pixi cut, I'd do it for the change. I've never had really short hair. My sister is tiny and she's been wearing a pixie for many years. Cute on her, she has small face. I don't....

You do not have to have a small face and be tiny to wear a pixie cut. If you wanted a change you can go online and see all the pictures of women who have a longer face or a fuller face and they look beautiful. I could not believe all the pictures, some back pictures and side pictures too. Women with every face shape .... I would go for it at least once it might surprise you in a very good way. ![]()

I can't believe how expensive a haircut is in some areas. I wear my hair very short and get it cut every 7or 8 weeks and it costs 11 dollars and I tip her 4 bucks. Very pleased with the haircut and although she does cut it shorter than I like sometimes it's only 2 weeks till the length is perfect again. Any one can wear their hair in a pixie and look great, you need to have attitude.lol People and especially men seem to notice that.

@Evie2004. I have no idea how this $65 haircut started but it is out in the suburbs of Chicago. Since I no longer live in Chicago I don't know the prices but they have to be higher than the suburbs. Yes, even the mom & pa shops are charging $65. I refuse to pay that much. I am okay with $20 & $25 and if I have to I will pay $30. I am so glad the salon has the program for stylists. Quite a few salons do that. I use to go to one that did not charge anything and you only had to tip but they closed the location I was going to. ![]()
