I went gray at 64 and I've never been happier with my hair. If you are thinking about transititioning your hair go to FB " going gray all the way".

Not sure I would automatically assume DH is inferring that your hair color is what is making you look "old".

Think I would just smile and tell him that we are a matched set.

Or tell him to get some manners 😏

There is a Randy Travis song "Forever and Ever Amen".  You and your husband should listen to it.  It is very touching, I love that song.

I wear wigs. My hair is brown in the back and gray around my face and forehead. I get lots of compliments on my gray wig color.

It could easily be copied in a salon. The color of this wig is called lilac silver R. You really hardly see any lilac at all. This is also the wig I wear. I'm told it is very  Zeal Wig by Noriko"youthful"   looking on me. This bigger picture really shows how it looks in real life. Your husband words were unkind. I'm sorry he said that to you. Do what's best for you!

OH, I forgot to say.....This picture is not me. I am 74. lot's older then this gal!  Still I find the color more youthful than most grays.

Do you dye your grey hair if hubby says you look old? Did not returning to coloring after it grew back from chemo. I'm not crazy about the grey, but it sure is a lot easier on my to-do list. Thoughts. It's been six years.

The grey hair comment is said by a huge majority of people.  Grey hair does signal old age for most.  That doesn't mean you don't look lovely.  I totally relate to your comment about wanting color in your hair. Grey hair does make you look older.   Color may not make you look younger but a good color does bring vibrancy and then more youth to the face. In a perfect world spouses would only say perfect things.  Some of the comments on this post are awful about you husband they don't know him or his intentions with the comment.

@hopi   With all due respect, what could anyone's intentions be with a comment like that?  I hope, by now, her husband has apologized.

@jubilant  Why would you think the comment you look older is an insult?

It's a statement. Grey hair happens as people get older . You have no idea of his intent.  It is ridiculous that you hope he has apologized.

@hopi   I guess I just assumed it bothered her when she said it here.  I don't know many women that don't want to be taken "as they are" by their husbands. I know if my husband said that to me....honestly, I would feel offended and I don't offend easily....I might even shoot something back at him! I've been known to do that occasionally!

@jubilant We didn't get the whole story.  She may have said something about her grey hair and he gave her an honest answer...that does not mean he isn't" taken with her". Nothing wrong with saying honest things to your husband either or shooting back if you don't like what's said.

Just know on days I look in the mirror and feel my grey hair makes me look older.

@hopi   I'm sorry if I offended you or others, hopi. It wasn't my intent. My husband compliments me all the time on my gray wigs so it just kind of surprised me. We both know that we are getting older and, while it took me awhile, I have excepted it. Still, I do my makeup every day and that helps a lot!!!
