I'm so sorry you have shingles.  They are nasty.  

Have you looked into getting the shingles vaccine?  Ask your doctor.  You will want to call your insurance company ahead of talking to your doctor to be sure they'll pay for it though.

My son had shingles twice...at age 4 and age 18.  He hasn't had it since.  Watching him suffer made me want the vaccine.

I hope that you enjoyed the dinner that your DH brought home last night.I am thinking that you will feel better if he gives you a lot of extra TLC.Remember to get a lot of rest and don't try to be Wonder Woman.

 @dex Thank you so much for your concern!!  DH brought home fried chicken with all the trimmings for dinner.It was a delicious splurge since we usually eat healthy.

  I’m feeling better today.The meds have kicked in & I was finally able to get some sleep 😴.

  DH is working from home today so he’ll be cooking dinner tonight. I’m under strict orders from DH & my son to rest the rest of the week.No cleaning,cooking or running errands!! 

   It feels strange to do nothing.I usually am “Wonder Woman “.

About that dinner...isn't chicken supposed to be good for what ails you?I hope you enjoy some nice relaxation while you heal and your dh and son sound very sweet and caring.

I had the shingles..isn't it the herpes zoster virus?? Is it from having chickenpox??Anyway..I didn't have the shot but I always take Lysine for fever blisters..it keeps them away..I had it for a couple of weeks..and some nerve pain that lingered for awhile. I was under alot of stress too. But..I don't remember our parents ever having shingles??? Anyone else??

@NicksmomESQ  Did you ever have the Shingles injection?  I understand it is treated with antibiotics (that is what my Aunt was given) and it cleared up quickly.  Sorry for your discomfort.  I am unable to get the Shingles injection because the medicine I take for my rheumatoid arthritis.  I hope I never get Shingles.  Let's say I pray I never get Shingles.  Take care.
