HOW DOES THE DAYS OF LESS DAYLIGHT AFFECT YOU?

Every year at this time when daylight savings time ends I hear many people say how depressing it is!  It has never affected me like that.  I have always enjoyed the cooler temperatures and the holiday season and the darkness just seems to go along with those things!!  I can feel depressed in the middle of summer if there is something negative going on to make me feel that way!  How about you?Woman Happy

It is depressing in the winter. The doctor said I have SAD. I love the cold but I don't like it getting dark early. I won't get out of bed until it's daylight. LOL!!! I'm not getting up when it's still dark. I need to buy one of those Happy Lights to use during the winter.

I love it. It is real time, not manufactured by man. Bright sun and heat truly hurt my eyes, headaches, etc. I love the feeling of a slower pace and the less frantic tone of the cool months. I know I am kinda strange about this. I also love rain and snow....

I guess I'll just have to do a Happy Dance like David to get rid of the winter blues.

Now that I'm retired I don't mind less daylight. But when I was working and during the dead of winter didn't see the light of day (left when it was dark and came home in the dark) it got depressing.

The differences of time between daylight and darkness down here in southern Florida are not as great as back up in central New York. I really am not affected by it here. Back there I'd get "cabin fever" which of course was made worse by the bitter weather.

I like to sleep when it's dark. With the winter coming, I can sleep in the dark and not notice. Then when I get up and it's got some light outside, the new snows looks beautiful. Trying to appreciate the little things we do have. Seems like anymore, that's plenty to grab at.

I love it. After months and months of summer and the heat I am so ready for winter and cool weather. I don't care if it gets dark at 5:00. Today it is rainy and windy. Sure beats 110 degrees any day.

My mood is always better when it's warm, sunny, and the beauty of blooms and greenery is all around me. There is nothing wonderful about barren trees, brown shrubbery, and pitch black evenings.

I'm a native Bostonian; shorter days and less sunshine in the winter is just a fact of life.  It doesn't bother me at all.  I don't really care for daylight savings time  i don't even understand the point of it.  Sure, we get an extra hour of sunlight in the daytime but that only means it gets dark an hour earlier in the evenings.  I would rather have that daylight in the afternoons.  But it doesn't depress me.
