We and our home in NC survived Helene.  We just got power back on this afternoon.  We had the signing for selling our house here today and will be Uhauling it back to Ohio Weds or Thursday.

Its been a harrowing experience.  Our house here is only about 20 to 30 miles from Lake Lure and Chimney Rock the 2 towns that were wiped out completely by flood waters.

We could only pack things during daylight hours due to no power so it was slow going.  Our road had many, many trees down and impassible for a few days.

We had 1 tree down across our drive and were able to get it cut about the 3rd day.  We also did not have any cell phone service for 3 days.  Luckily our house and out buildings did not sustain any damage.

I can only imagine what a horrible experience this has been for you but am happy and relieved that you are all right and the house didn't suffer irreversible damage.

Oh, my goodness, @Imaoldhippie -- thank you for letting us know.  I never knew you had a place there.  So sorry you had to undergo this, but very glad you are OK.  It must have been terrible.  So many are suffering.

@Imaoldhippie  Oh my goodness....it had to be a scary experience. This year the floods and hurricanes are horrendous. I'm glad you're okay and have a safe trip to Ohio.

@Imaoldhippie.  It much have been quite an accomplishment to sell a house there in NC under current conditions.
