I once emailed a shopping channel (not the Q)... that they had the wrong menorah on their set for Hanukkah.

They sent me a real nasty reply.       di

@Desertdi  David Venable posted Hanukkah greetings on Facebook using the wrong menorah. I mentioned it, and he changed the picture, but deleted my post. 🤦🏼‍♀️

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it.
For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.

Happy Hannukah to my friends on qvc who celebrate. After the horrible weekend events, I m happy my Holaucaust surviving parents are no longer her to see what is happening in this world.

@evelyner I feel the same way. I'm glad my parents are not around to see how bad things have gotten the last few years.

Happiness and the best to all who acknowldge the season and Holidays.

I am not a jew but recall my late father sharing his WWII expereince and my mother's uncles who helped liberate.  I don't want to believe their sacrifices and efforts were for nothing.  I do believe that good triumphs over evil.

There have been two troubling antisemitic incidents in NYC in just the past few days.

Two Jewish men were pummeled in a moving subway car.  Video is widely available.

Separately,  a Jewish man was stabbed on the sidewalk while his attacker yelled anti-Jewish slurs.  This one is being investigated as a hatecrime and there is plenty of video evidence of the attacker.

Surnames were created in the Middle Ages...and generally reflected a person's occupation, or town where they lived.     Ten centuries later, your last name has nothing to do with your ancestors' job or locale.

A few years ago, a coworker walked up to my desk and said, "YOUR people killed MY people."   I asked him what he was talking about...and he replied:  "In the WAR".    (He didn't specify which war.)

People get some "strange ideas" of WHO you might be, and it is SCAREY.     di

@Puzzle Piece   We are not Jewish but I echo your sentiments.  My dad was a WWII and Korean War vet.   I really hope good triumphs the current evil before it's too late...

@Desertdi  Wow what a weird nutty thing to say to someone," your people killed my people". I'd steer clear  of that guy.  These days it seems alot of people are kinda squirrelly and unafraid to say whatever pops into their heads.

@Shanus  Yesterday morning, I had to slip out of work to take my 6 year old grandson to school as my daughter was running late for work.  So we are in the drop off line and he says "Mina, do you know what Hanukkah is?"  I said yes, I do - he said yeah for 8 days the oil lamp burned.  We talked about the oil and the miracle and then he says, "I think Hanukkah started in like the 1960's" and I explained to him no my love, it's been celebrated by the Jewish people for over 2,000 years and he was amazed.

Teachable moments...

@bmorechick  Your little grandson must be learning about all the holidays celebrated now.

Kwanzaa was started in the 1960s, he may've been mixing it up with Hanukkah.

Luckily I don't work for that firm any more....but the really SCARY part was the fact that this guy was in the SECURITY DEPARTMENT  and had access to my HR file.  di
