We in the Southwest are still waiting for winter.  Every day in December except one was 10 - 20 degrees above normal.  Every day a handful of cities broke the all-time record for high. Temperatures for the date.

Beside the  high temps, we've been bone dry with no measurable precipitation.  There's so much dust in the air, I go through my days sneezing constantly.

There's a lot of concern about what fire season and summer weather weather will bring.

I follow the weather in my home state of Michigan, even though I live in Florida now. Ya know, I feel l could've retired there if I wouldn't have to drive in snowy icy conditions. Even though I hate cold weather. But you still have to get out there and snow blow your driveway, go to appts, etc. You cant totally avoid the weather no matter how you want to be a hermit for five months.

Here in the TampaBay area we are dry and in the high 70s. Big cold snap coming new years eve with temps dropping into the thIrties. We will put the heat on for that time, should only be for a day or two then back to 80 degrees like normal.

Weather in Kentucky has been crazy too. We had two snowstorms early in December that left several inches on the ground. I think we already set a record for snow totals in KY for December.

We've had temperatures in the 60s to near 70 the past several days. Some sunshine today which is nice, but we're experiencing gusty winds ahead of the cold front. Temperatures will drop 50 degrees with Monday's high only in the 20s. After that, 30s and 40s predicted for the rest of the week which is fairly normal for winter in KY.

As I have aged my old body doesn't like extreme temps.

Summers have become saunas and winters are brutal.

I am in South Central PA and the weather is terrible.33 degrees.  It's cold, dark, is either raining, sleeting or snowing and freezing on the roads and sidewalks. It's supposed to be 49 degrees tomorrow,  then down in the 20's and 30's for the rest of the week and cloudy.

If I wanna drive anywhere,I have to deglaze my car first. It's difficult to walk the dogs.....too much ice, then too much icemelt that hurts the dogs paws.

I hate winter and this year has been one of the worse in a while.  There is never any sunshine.  It's always dark, cloudy  and dreary.  No wonder I have to take vitamin D supplements.

Hurry up spring.  I need some sunshine!

@Carmie   Isn't it depressing?

I use a walker and can't get myself safely to the car.  Now with snow/sleet on the ground, well, it's an ER visit waiting to happen.  I literally have not been out of the house for 6 weeks. I was going to go out with DD last weekend but decided to stay put.

I will be forced to go out on 1/5 for a Dr. appt.  My DD is taking the morning off to get me and my trusty walker to the Dr. and back in one piece.

She is always asking me on the weekends if I want to go out, nope I'm good.  She is willing to take me anywhere and thinks I should go with her when she runs errands.

@CrazyKittyLvr2   Oh do be careful.  I have a right knee replacement and an ouchy left knee.  I walk good, but I have fallen on ice too many times while I was working in my employers parking lot.  No wonder my knees are bad!

I am super careful now.  I don't want to fall.  I still have to take the dogs out and they pull me.  So far, so good.

The last time I fell was at the cemetery last year when we buried my sister. The fake green carpet covered up a wooden board and I tripped over it.  I fell face first almost into the open grave.  I was so embarrassed. I couldn't get up...just had knee replacement.  My sister, may she  RIP was probably laughing at me.

Hopefully, the weather will get better and you will be able to go out more.  It would be a pity to be couped up all winter.  Take care.

Here in NE PA usually Jan/Feb are our coldest months but this month had some brutal temps.  If it's bad now what are the typically bad months going to be like.  Yikes!!

I just checked the weather.  It's calling for 50 on Monday.  Oh boy, a one day heat wave. Then down to the 20's  My sinuses will be going crazy.

I've had 2 home heating oil deliveries already to the tune of $1000+.  Gonna be a long expensive winter.

How is your winter weather?

@Carmie   Holy cow.  I haven't fallen and doing my best to avoid it.  Not a good thing at any age but I am 75.

I'm sorry you fell at the cemetary but you made me chuckle with the comment about your sister laughing. I would have said the same thing about my sister.

Actually I did fall in 2018 in my kitchen.  My own dumb fault.  My walker has wheels and a seat.  Well I went to sit on the walker and didn't half the brake on.  I sat on the edge of the seat and it started rolling.  Had no time to grab the counter.  It tipped me forward and dumped my butt on the floor, continued rollong 4 feet anf tipped over.  I had a hip replaced 3 months earlier.  Not hurt at all just sat there laughing at myself for being a moron.  DH helped me up.  Brake is always on now when it sit down or stand up.  Lesson learned.

Do be careful when walking the dogs.
