I wish I could get a good night's sleep. Rarely seems to happen.

So, I've been a "bad sleeper" all my life. I sleep very lightly and hear any noise and it wakes me up IF and WHEN I fall asleep.

Here's what's helped a bit: 1.  I set a regular bedtime and wake up time. 2.  Sometimes, I read a bit, go off by myself to transition the day/night of TV, computer, work appts. and whatever went on during the day...try to tune it all off and relax, thinking about getting ready to sleep. 3.  I do shower or prefer a bath before bedtime...relaxing and signals/sets up a routine to let my mind and body know it's time for sleep. 4.  I prefer a very cool room in all seasons...an extra throw is OK, but air is always cool.  5.  I have a CD of rain, thunder storms, etc. that I  play when I get into bed. For me it's soothing sounds that also signals it's time to sleep. 6.  If I do wake up during the night and can't fall asleep again, I get up and go into the family room...read, computer, anything to NOT lie in bed angry that I'm not asleep. I've been known to iron, write in my journal, do stretching exercises, etc. I try not to reward myself w/ Netflix for not sleeping.

      Kinda similar to my "nite-nite" when my wife is off Pet Sitting. Main differences are, I(we) sleep in a recliner, and I have 1 dog and 2 cats aboard.  And this saying pretty much expresses my look at life. Make the most of each day as not a 1 of us knows how many we have left.

@jeanlake, Wishing you a happy weekend too! Hot & humid here. Trying to avoid going outdoors until at least the sun goes down!

@hckynut& @Shanus, great to see that you have embraced some workable solutions to these very troublesome sleep 😴💤 issues many of us face!

@catter70, I am trying to cut out caffeine, mainly coffee, and no nap or dozing off during evening tv. A neverending battle!

@MOMMAVik

No sleep issues with me. Your graphics pretty much cover how I bed down for the night. It's words also parallel my outlook and philosophy on life. "Live each day as if it may be your last". Even though I am now an old man(chronologically speaking), this has been my outlook on life for many, many decades.
