This picture is what keeps me trying to move. I'm sure having such a caring DH helps to keep you moving.
Everyone,We had a torrential downpour this morning, I got Bijou outside when I heard the first thunder so he is dry. I just read a chapter in my book after putting some bacon in a skillet to slowly crisp up, I avoid a lot of greasy splatters that way and I enjoy the aroma while I sip my flavored coffee. The sun is now shining. I may take Bijou for a very short walk today, it would be the first since our accident. I say our because he is the reason I was being too hasty stepping down off patio.
I ordered a propane grill last night from Ace Hardware on sale and they will deliver it and assemble it free as a rewards member, didn't cost anything to join. I just decided that I wanted to grill out this summer, you know just enjoy that pleasure again. I smell neighbor's grills outside a lot and it always smells so delicious.
Hey @hullie, I thought of you when I saw this picture. Be careful on your walk and remember slow and easy. Yes, my nose picks up that lovely grilling aroma. Enjoy your new grill! ![]()

Good morning! We're having a pretty morning here today but we're expecting some severe storms and wind this afternoon.
I'm happy to report that I got the burned out ceiling light bulbs changed out yesterday. I had good light last night. I'm watching Hudson and Rex right now but I'm about to shower and dress for the day. A casual morning for me. I wanted to grocery shop before the storms arive but we'll see. I'm excited about getting some watermellon, cantelope and grapes. What else? I don't know.
I sure enjoy all of the pictures and quotes! Have a wonderful saturday, Love and Hugs!

@Sweet Caroline 1 "While metformin doesn't directly cause high calcium levels, it can indirectly affect calcium-dependent processes and may lead to elevated calcium in some cases. Metformin can reduce vitamin B12 absorption, and this effect can be reversed with calcium supplementation. Additionally, some SGLT2 inhibitors, which are sometimes used alongside metformin, have been linked to hypercalcemia, although this is a rare side effect."
DH takes this, and his calcium level is normal.

Look at this plump rascal! Hey there everyone! I'm happy to tell you that I did those outdoor chores that I couldn't seem to make myself do. 1) I dragged a large lawn bag to the basement door and put away some things that I wanted to get out of the way and store downstairs. I did that yesterday. 2) This morning I sprayed a huge area of poison ivy using the Ortho ground clear formula that attatches to the garden hose and sprays a pretty good distance. While spraying over there, there was more garbage on the second driveway. Do you think that I should call the Dept of Health? WWJD?
Now I need to work on getting those broken light bulbs out of the sockets and replace bulbs. And other things.
Do any of you take Metformin for type 2 diabeies? I think this might be what is causing high levels of Calcium in my blood. I have an appt with a Endocrinology Dr for a consultation coming up on June 30th. It isn't far away at all and I know how to get there.
I'll go have a bite of lunch now and see about those light bulbs. Have a wonderful day everyone! Love ya!
@Sweet Caroline 1 I take metformin and it has not caused high calcium. Mine iswithin range and more on the low range.
Thank you @Sassy7356 I take the top dose, 4, 500mg tablets daily. I take 2 morning and 2 evening. My # was 10 and now down to 6 or 7. Maybe I'll find out with my Dr visit on June 30.
I use to have low blood sugar and was told that it can change to high blood sugar one day, and it has. Love ya!
@Sweet Caroline 1 My level is 10.3, still within normal range, and yours at 10 is more normal than mine. Calcium is in much of my supplements. When I saw 6 or 7, I was stunned as that is low. what is your doctor thinking? Hopefully, the one you will see soon will be more helpful. Let me know what the new one says.
"Normal calcium levels in adults typically range from 8.5 to 10.5."
"A calcium level of 6 is very low and considered dangerously low, indicating a condition called hypocalcemia. The normal range for total serum calcium is typically between 8.5 to 10.5 mg/dL (2.12 to 2.62 mmol/L), according to Medscape. A level of 6 is significantly below this range and can have serious consequences."

@Sweet Caroline 1 Have you ever eaten Crenshaw melon? It has orange flesh, sweet and juicy and is so much better than cantaloupe. DH was given a free cantaloupe at the produce market, and I told him to eat it, so he did.

Good afternoon everyone! it's been a sunny hot 87 with high humidity today. We had two walks early and I drove to my son's store to go to my granddaughter's dance program. His friend was there to run the store and watch Tony for several hours. He drove and it was at a church several miles away.
The church was huge and beautiful but there really wasn't a stage that was large enough for dancing. They all did a great job and nobody slipped or fell off.
The show was for parents and friends of her local dance
studio and had all ages dancing. My granddaughter is on the staff and teaches the youngest. She did the choreography for them and stood in front and to the side of them. There were 8 of them about three years old in white tutus and they were like little ducks following her. Mothers were taking photos afterward.
She did both solos that will be in the National competitions and several groups also and was in about 8 other dances. That is the last with this studio except Nationals in late June.
Snickers did well but was glad to go out briefly and we had a snack since I didn't get lunch. Watermelon again for me!
Rain is due tonight and tomorrow, the grass and everything needs it.
I think what I thought were briars or poison Ivy are blackberries. They're red and turning now. I've heard there are chiggers on them and probably won't eat them. The leaves are three like poisonous. The tree men will cut them down when they do the tree.
Enjoy the weekend y'all!

The birdies "planted" some sunflowers near the bird feeders next to the patio this spring. When Ed saw them I said don't destroy them, maybe more will come up in a few weeks. It's great when the birds "sing for their supper." ![]()
Like everything else bird food has gone up in price.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. We had a small amount of rain here today and now the sun is shining and the skies are rather smokey from the wildfires.
Coffee Klatch was fun this morning. One of the ladies brought trivia questions re. Memorial Day. We got some of the answers correct. The banana rhubarb muffins were a hit. Fortunately, everyone likes rhubarb which is still in season here.
Take care. Stay safe. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
