Very windy and sunny today.
I had the yearly appointment yesterday with my PC and a blood panel draw, so of course I didn't sleep until 7am and had to be up at 11, but only slept in little naps. I felt horrible. I had just set my hair at 1:00, then went into the den and saw my answering machine blinking. There was a message of cancelling the appointment. I must remember on such days to check that machine as soon as I get up.
We would have been close to home by 4:00, so had planned to get one item from the Chinese restaurant nearby. Since my taste buds were primed for this food, and I was starving as I had been fasting since dinner the night before, I asked DH to go. Wouldn't you know that I was given the wrong order. What I got was okay, but not what I had wanted, had a feeling something would go awry. Ate and went to bed.
Next week, I will see her on Friday, eye surgery on Wednesday, back on Thursday for a check, going out three days in a row is unusual for me now.
I called my old market on Thursday to order DH's fudge cake, have been getting this there for over thirty years, almost every year. I had to special order because they changed the cake from putting chocolate rosettes on top to white pearls around the bottom, so am wondering if he got it right, will see on Sunday, now it takes two days to order a cake. I used to be able to go anytime and see them in the cooler. I ordered a small cake as I don't want it hanging around all week. The regular size is $60, forget that, I would make one rather than pay that.
His birthday dinner will be hamburgers from this market, the best beef and havn't had it for years, but if I ever get back to driving, will go there. I used to make it by grinding beef tips, fabulous, but no longer have the large processor, just the little one which works wonderfully, just have to process food in batches.
Since I stopped making pizza dough, I now use long oval Naan, which work fine, so tonight, I will make those, sausage, etc, for DH, and ricotta for me, but will make enough for him and leftovers. Burgers, pizza, and pasta are his favorite food items.
Wishing everyone a pleasant weekend.

@mousiegirl Oh my goodness ! You really did have a bad day with that appointment cancelled then the wrong food order. When it rains it pours!
It's the same here, things aren't the same as before. Stores are closed without notice. The recipes are sometimes different. Prices are exorbitant!
I hope everything goes smoothly with your next appointment and eye surgery. Take care!

Hello everyone! The cable technician came close to being late for the appointment after my rushing to be is morning.
He was in in a different truck and I think the company has merged with another. He was grumpy because Verizon was laying cables for glow fiber all along the street.
I explained that I can't hear voices well and to talk slowly. So he didn't talk. He checked outside then went inside upstairs where the router is and changed it back to factory settings. So far it's on and I hope it's fixed.
He was leaving and I asked him about the boxes in the street that aren't marked. He went into a lengthy discussion about their company messing his up and cutting things, then he has to repair it.
I agreed, my son told me I was better with his company, and if he was on my street with other damage to please check mine. I explained how hard it was to get him to my house due to my hearing and several hone calls lasting hours.
I thanked him profusely while wondering if it is fixed; and for how long.
Then I walked Snickers the second time and escaped to a burger and frosty before taking the newspaper to my son. I waited an hour for people to leave so he could leave. Then another customer came and browsed a half hour. As he was leaving two more came and I told my son I'd get him a drink and to walk Tony after everyone left. He had drinks there and said to leave.
I fever Snickers a bath and put her bedding in the laundry. He sent a text saying those people just left!
I texted that if my granddaughter or I can't help he needs to put a sign on the door "back in 15 minutes" He used to do that.
He showed me a photo of my granddaughter from behind this morning in Richmond running a 5 K race with friends. Writing was on her back I was afraid to decipher.
It was 86! It must be good to feel young!

had to go to bank again to prove who i was. could not get onto bank site again today called to see what is going on-had to go to bank to prove who I was. bank lady did take out DH name/phone/email off the account so don't know if that was the sticking point i finally got in. see how long this lasts.
the kids/family are going to wedding today down in southern delaware-i was invited but it is during church so i would rather go to church now than a wedding. know it sounds strange but right now in my life i just want to stay clear of anything with weddings/joining families.
not much else. later guys
You just lost your dear husband two months ago so I think your decision to attend church rather than a wedding celebration is a great choice. It is not strange. It would certainly be difficult and emotional to watch a bride and groom make forever vows to one another and not recall your own vows with Jerry.
Take time to grieve (remember, there is no time limit) and make decisions based on what your heart tells you to do. You don't owe anyone any explanations. Based on your regular posts I think you're doing remarkably well and making decisions Jerry would be proud of.
Our prayers are with you as you continue this path however long it takes. Blessings and love.

I got one of those chicken rotisserie at Sam’s yesterday so I'll have sandwiches with that today and either make something else with the leftovers or freeze.
Just finished playing toss and fetch with Bijou, he had a nap while I was reading earlier so he was ready to play. This is the third very very windy day in a row and it has been unseasonably cool. In the past the lake was warm enough for me to jump in by June first but this year even if I could I wouldn't jump in yet.
Ankle was so swollen from my excursion that this morning it has not gone down a lot. I am glad I got a big watermelon, haven't cut it up yet so I hope it is a good one. Watermelon is supposed to be anti inflammatory so I will definitely have some later.
@hullie, I'm glad that you are free of that boot. Break that ankle in sweet and slow. I would love to know if your watermellon is in season or we need to wait a little longer to buy one. They are delicious! I'm enjoying bananas and peanut butter right now. Hugs to you and Bijou! ![]()

Hey there @mousiegirl, Wow! What a day you had. They say trouble comes in three's. I love Chinese food... sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and egg rolls. I like the sweet and sour sauce and the hot mustard. I haven't had any in years. It's a good thing that there isn't a Chinese restaurant close by me. Things will get better dear friend! Big Hugs! ![]()

@Sweet Caroline 1 @hullie There is a new variety, Midnight, which promises to be sweet and juicy every time, also seedless, the only type I buy, so can't wait to try it. Has to have a large yellow area on the bottom, not white.
