I can't stay upset with Bijou for too long and I guess he does get confused why he can't jump in my lap. This morning he is still exhibiting bad behavior....I am just not well enough to deal with his defiance. My foot can't handle it. It's when he is outside and I need to get him in that is the most difficult.
It has been cold and rainy here and more in the forecast. I feel like taking the day off from getting caught up on house chores. The outside chores are still out of my reach but nieces have done a few out there for me.

@Sassy7356 , this is pretty!
Everyone, I am glad we have made it to Friday. My DH has already been called out to work this morning. Maybe he can get home a little earlier later today. I have some grocery shopping to do. Plans to make Chinese Beef and onion stir fry for this weekend .
We have had rain chances all week, but all of it has gone all around us. A lot of it was thunderstorms with hail, so I am glad it all missed us. Tomorrow is more favorable for us, so we will see.
I hope your Friday is a good one. Be safe everyone.

NATIONAL HISTORIC MARKER DAY | Last Friday in April
Founded in 2022 by National Day Calendar® and The William G. Pomeroy Foundation.
@meallen616 & all Today at lunch at the store my son an I were talking about the cost of restaurant and takeout food now.
I told him we could start a garden and I'd plant Zucchini for the casserole I used to make. It was easy and delicious. He said it was okay , but not every day.
With it in a garden there is a LOT of zucchini! I made it quite often: spray a casserole dish with Pam. Layer zucchini, then tomatoes, onions, preferred seasonings, and shake cheese or shredded. It can be baked or I discovered microwaved. Test to see when it's done. Simple!
I sent him the photo of zucchini bread saying it looks good. He returned the message with a photo of a mouse gagging, ha!
I didn't mention the hug a plumber day. That doesn't look like my plumber though! 😀

Good morning, it's friday! We're expecting rain every day for the next seven days or longer. I completely forgot to look for the smiley face this morning. Maybe they'll show it on the news this morning. I'm trying to decide what I want and need to do today. No, brain is still at 0%.
I wanted to tell you, my local WM has a Nail Salon and I stopped by there recently and asked if they do toe nail trims without a pedicure and they said yes. They had time for me and one of the techs, clipped and filed my toenails for me. It was a very pleasant experience and I'll go back when needed. It cost $15.00 plus tip. I have a hard time reaching my toenails with my stiff knees and I'm tickled that I have a place to go to keep my toenails trimmed close.
Also, there were white, metal baskets in the Easter department that were 1/2 price and I got 6 to go in my bathroom cabinets that I'm working on. They were $4.49 each. They just fit and go in the narrow openings! I'm thrilled!
I'm working on several things here and there and have two appointments next week, three including getting my sister's car back to the body shop. Moving right along working on getting things done and redone.
Yesterday I asked my yard man if he could go up on my roof to install that vent cover but he doesn't like heights. So I'm still searching for someone for that.
I'll close for now and wish all of you a wonderful and happy day! Love and Hugs!
@Sweet Caroline 1 A roof/gutter cleaning person would do that for you.

Good evening friends! Is it too early for birds to be hatching? I've been sitting here listening to a loud squeaking sound and thought ot was my ice box. But now I think that it was baby birds right outside my back door. There is a small bucket hanging there and each Spring it gets used for a nest and bird eggs. They started peeping kind of late, about 7:00pm and just stopped about 7:40pm. I'm sure that it was baby birds. They would be little sparrows or finches.........
It is not too early for birds to be hatching. Our very recent story is as follows:
Pair of house finches
We recently witnessed a house finch adding material to a nest (used in the past two years by robins). We saw her bring in twigs and other stuff to repair the nest for her eggs. Later we saw her come to the nest and sit there for long periods of time. We could not see the eggs but we knew they were there. About 10 or so days ago we saw 4 tiny birdies popping their heads up in the nest; the eggs had hatched.
Checking on them daily mama bird didn't seem to mind us going out and coming in. She seemed to get used to us being there. In the following days we heard the little ones start their chirping ever so softly. We also saw the birdies interact together and move around in their tight quarters.
The nest is to the left of our front porch glider. It is on the roof's eave somewhat protected from the weather. Last evening when we came home from our potluck supper at the Commons mama was there and so was papa. They came flying in and out of the nest area over and over but did not land. Were they telling the birdies it was time to leave the nest? We saw mama bird bring food in one time and feed them and papa was there too. Aah, the magic of nature. It was an educational experience for me and Ed.
Two of the birdies left sometime during the night. They were not there early this morning when I checked. A third birdie left sometime late morning. One lonely birdie remained and I actually saw him leave mid-afternoon. He landed in a shrub in front of our home and disappeared from sight.
We feed the birds year round and have a lot of yellow finches and house finches at our feeders. They love to eat both sunflower seed and finch seed. They know we enjoy their daily visits. Now we'll remember their parenting skills too.
