Re: Good Friends Are Like Springtime

Winds are back again but then they are never gone long from the prairie land of Nebraska. The lake is very choppy. I like looking at it when it is like glass and so peaceful.

Sarah and her new boyfriend were here earlier. They did some laundry and took Bijou outside to play and went through my office and pulled some things I need to work on . I will work out on the smaller dining table near my recliner. I am just trying to keep my leg elevated now. Sarah and her guy have liked each other for a long time but when one was available the other was in a relationship, now appears they finally connected.

Jazmin is here now and is making a hot garlic bread, lasagna and fresh veggies and dip for supper. Not sure if she is staying but I am getting more comfortable being by myself. I need to stay off my leg as much as possible to get the swelling to subside here at first. Sarah takes me to surgeon Thursday. The stove/oven seems to be working except the clock keeps needing to be reset which is not right. Will probably have to call them back out but I hate to just for the clock.

@mousiegirl

I don't sleep well prior to appointments either. Always takes me a couple of days to feel normal again. I feel for you with all your upcoming appointments.

Re: Good Friends Are Like Springtime

[ Edited ]

Good evening everyone,  we are enjoying the weekend. My DH has been home since Wednesday,  and it is so nice to have his company. He has done pretty well since the heart procedure,  but did experience some breathing issues yesterday.  @Sassy7356 , did you have any effects from the cardioversion?

Our temps have warmed today, and we will be in the 80s all next week. We just turned our ac on. Yesterday was cool, but no wind which was very wonderful.

I made some cheesesteak hoagie sandwiches last night with deli roast beef that I warmed in a skillet with butter, and worchestershire sauce. I cooked red, green and orange bell peppers and Vidalia onions in butter. We toasted the hoagies, and topped with melted Swiss cheese. We enjoyed them.

@hullie , your lasagna meal sounds wonderful.  I hope you enjoy it. We are reheating leftover lasagna soup and garlic bread for our dinner. Did your nausea pills help you. I have Zofran that I take for nausea which I have occasionally.

Misty is asleep, and have I mentioned how cute she is? Cat Very Happy

I hope today is good for everyone.

Re: Good Friends Are Like Springtime

@mousiegirl , wow, your heating bill is outrageous.  For comparison, ours is $100-30 for a month during the cold months. This drops dramatically during summer.

Our electric is high during warm weather though.  $400.00-500.00 during summer.

I hope you get your vision corrected,  and if you have cataract surgery you will be so pleased. I remember thinking the whole world lit up after mine. My DH feels the same about his.

@Tissyanne   I definitely am having cataract surgery on my left eye, just a matter of getting it scheduled.  My right eye is allowing me to see perfectly fine, but the left is so blurry and getting worse.

The electric and gas use is one sum, our heating is electric and the rest is on gas.  California is too expensive, but born and raised here, never left.  It wasn't so when I was growing up.

DH had both eyes done, one at a time, several years ago, at the same clinic.  I practically finished reading a book during the lengthy waiting for visits and the day of surgery.

Re: Good Friends Are Like Springtime

@Tissyanne Yes I think the nausea medication is helping. Zofran is what they ordered for me too.

Jazmin just left for home after cleaning the kitchen and settling me and Bijou for the night and making sure he had fresh water and food for tomorrow.

Prior to my accident I had not seen either girl for at least a couple of weeks, they are so busy in their lives. Sarah was saying one of her fellow workers asked why didn't I have my own kids help me and she told him they her and Jazmin were my kids. I am so blessed , so blessed.

Anyway I am trying to stay off my leg for these first two weeks as I was told after surgery and see what surgeon says Thursday.

@AnikaBrodie

I am so sorry to hear of your and Ed's longtime friend passing. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Missing loved ones is tough. I am missing my sister terribly. She doesn't get any visitors very often. We make the best of bad situations I guess and lean on our memories and faith.

Thank you.  Patsy was such a fighter through all the long years of COPD and the complications that came with it.  Now that she is gone it's hard to process it all as we grieve the loss of such a loving friend and mother.  She lost her husband 20 years ago after he was diagnosed with asbestos cancer.  She never remarried.  Her family will need lots of TLC as they cope with her loss and they'll have it.  Her daughter lived with her for years after her diagnosis, and her son and family live in North Carolina.  They were her #1 priority and are a close family.  Patsy taught them well.  Heart
