Of course it does.

It matters to investors.

Without investors, companies die.

That's ALL its about.

Look at Qurates's stock chart. That's what investors look at...the lifeblood of any publicly traded compan

This layoff was a band aid when they need a tourniquet.

I guess I need to further elaborate.

I don't dispute that earnings are very important ... but so is the money going out.  Even if you made a huge income, if you spent a lot more than you made, you'd get yourself seriously in debt.

For an individual to improve their financial situation, they can either find ways to 1-Earn more,  2-Spend less ... or 3-do BOTH.

Same with companies.

As for my question as to what should be on instead of countless talk shows .... it's easy to disparage and criticize, but if you can't come up with anything better, maybe networks are in the same situation.

There was a time when daytime TV was all created for short attention span or short watching periods ... retired or stay at home moms.   When comparing those shows to prime time shows, you can still see who the target market is.  Perhaps it's not you, but you probably shouldn't assume no one else is watching, either.

Just leave your TV tuned to TCM and your little "problem" is solved.

People will always need to shop somehow. There are many, many people that cannot leave their homes so QVC is a way for them to shop. The gardening shows are also a way to purchase plants and so forth of which we have purchased many. QVC will always be around.

Everything retail can be found online ... even cars.

For most of us, it's the convenience factor.

Hey, how can you beat shopping at midnight in your pajamas?

I bought my car on-line. It was easy, the price offered was the price paid. Everything was done on-line.
It is a great place to buy used cars, you get a report from that little Fox which has every last detail, you put a down payment and they deliver the car and if you don't want it, no problem.

They're uniqueness is describing and demonstrating an item you would probably pass by at a store or online. They're overhead is too large. I heard they buy a vendors product but return the inventory back to the vendor if it doesn't sell.

Haha! Go into any Walmart at any time of day and you'll see people shopping in their pajamas, also any store.
