Re: For you coffee nuts, How do you make it?

[ Edited ]

Starbucks nut here. Our coffee machine has a Keurig on one side (DH likes coffee at night and I'm only a "morning drinker") and

our morning coffee is drip on the other side...Cuisinart. We put the coffee/water in at night and set it to start brewing at 6AM.

DH drinks his black, but I like fast free 1/2 &1/2 and Splenda.

which model keurigs do you guys use? Any problems with them?

I bought a Keurig when they were first introduced and returned it within a few weeks. Have to use pods that are available (though there are many options) and are expensive.  Water temperature is one of the most important features in a coffee maker.  Keurig's just don't reach that temperature and coffee is never hot enough.  If your not fussy about your coffee, I guess Keurig is adequate but certainly not ideal.

Re: For you coffee nuts, How do you make it?

I have a drop coffee maker.

I think the coffee is what makes a difference. I prefer a dark Colombian coffee. Right now, I'm hooked on Peet's.

I've never met a Cuisinart that didn't leak from the carafe. I've had other brands but have never really found one I could stick with.

I'd like a new drip multi-cup coffee maker. Suggestions?

keurig users, are you happy with your machine and the taste of the coffee

I liked my Keurig but hated all the waste that goes in the garbage. I know they're small but so many go to landfills. I got rid of my Keurig because of that.

Kuerg type. Black,no sugar or cream or foam. Read or heard somewhere that the idea for the Kuerg type pods was sold for $50,000.

Re: For you coffee nuts, How do you make it?

During the work week, I typically stop at McDonald's to get a medium iced coffee with no liquid sugar. It only costs 1.00.   Sometimes I will go to Dunkin and get a blueberry muffin to go with my iced coffee.  My co workers get me a McDonald's gift card for my birthday every year which is December 16.  That usually covers my coffees through February. This year they also got me a Dunkin gift card so I am set for the winter.

At home on days I don't go right into the office or on the weekends I make Peet's dark roast in my Keurig.  I had light cream.

I never have sugar in my coffee.

@Biftu   That's why I nuke it before adding creamer and cold foam.

@smoochy  Yes, if you use a Keurig you need to nuke the milk/creamer or coffee itself in order to get the coffee hot enough. Why not buy a coffee maker that actually makes hot coffee and avoid having to nuke it.

I buy a whole bean local medium blend and grind my beans for the week.  I will add a scoop of cinnamon to the container of ground coffee. It adds a nice flavor and takes out any bitterness.

I use a single cup DeLonghi espresso machine.  It gets a nice froth with only coffee and water, no milk necessary for that foam on top!

I then drink it plain.
