Re: February 2016 Birds Nest

I MADE IT HOME - It is pretty & peaceful here. There is no sadness and no sorrow, and no pain. Here, there is no crying and I will never hurt again...I'll be the first face you see when you get here!:

Meuw,   I am so sorry to read that one of your furbabies had to cross the bridge.   I hesitated posting this because I didn't want to make you sadder or hurt more.  I read several of the pins similar to this and then had to stop as I couldn't see through the tears.   Maybe it's just me but it sure seems like they are right at the surface always ready to start flowing.  I even have trouble reading happy stories because of the tears there again.   I guess I have leaky eyes.

I know how much you love your pets,  everyone here is like that, we love them as family and it does hurt to let them go.   I do believe that God will let us have all our pets in Heaven,  so it's a temporary separation.   I also believe,, the deeper the grief,  the deeper the love. Heart

I agree about the price of beef in particular.   Bacon has been coming down a bit in price, but not so with ground steak and steaks,  beef in general.   Thank goodness eggs have dropped almost $1.25 or more in price too.    What shocked my son last week is the pirce of Honey Crisp apples.  He bought 3 and it cost him over $9.00.   I'd been buying them, just a couple as my DDIL likes to take them for her lunch,,  I didn't mention the cost to them.   Now they know, so I found a couple other varieties that are good and not 5bucks a pound.  Opal, a yellow apple, similar to Golden Delicious,  Envy and Ambrosia.  All good apples.  I like Gala too.

Have a nice Tuesday,  Everyone.   Might get frost here in Florida this week.  Below normal,  YEA!!!! ,  not about the frost, just lower temps.  I was getting tired of the 80ies for most of January.

Re: February 2016 Birds Nest

Possum, that is a beautiful message you posted and am sure Meuw will appreciate it. Losing our four legged friends - and even those who have feathered friends who leave us here on earth, is always a devastating thing. I think of the many I have waved goodbye to and think about seeing them again one day, well there had best be a B I G yard for all of us to play in.  Most recently I really struggled when I lost my Stripes last Spring, the rescued macho independent cat - never did I think I would lose him at such an early age and due to FIV. Meuw, as I mentioned to you in another thread I am so very sorry for your loss - it hurts!!!

I think it is time to do a war dance to hurry up the longer days. Wonder if that would help? Seems like it is taking forever to get here. I know once they arrive, they start immediately on shortening up again. Grrrrr.

My feathered friends did make short work of the full feeders. I still find it amazing they can empty them so quickly - always surprises me this time of the year. I think it is because the days are so much shorter so I do not see a lot of birds out there. But they obviously are.

Have a great day everyone. By the way, cannot imagine having a groundhog living under your house or even nearby. I read several comments about that, and I found it amazing. Wow!!!

@Winifred

No doing a war dance for you missy.  Your luck you will sprain something, lol.  The days are getting a bit longer here.  It's nice to leave work at 6 pm and still see a little of the setting sun.

The bird of the day is the Orange Chinned Parakeet

Hello Everyone,

     I am at home today watching the snow gently blanket the countryside. We put out food for the feathered friends! Hope that everyone is safe and warm. My furbabies are laying contently by the fire. They don't have a care in the world!
