@PamfromCT The blood test was like an extra $20 during my annual visit and my insurance covered it. The shot is not horribly expensive either and again covered because of the test results.

This was around 2019 so hopefully, those prices are still pretty accurate. If you have insurance, it should be completely covered.

Good for you. Personally I didn’t and won’t get vax’d - haven’t been vax’d since I turned 50 and got shingrix to prevent shingles. Just a preference.

No shots for me....nope.  I will have no one  push or pounce on me about them ....I already told my doctor.  The nurse comes in and gives me the low down and I told her to stop.

I do not trust big PHARM, I do not trust the CDC, and I pay attention to my own body and my immune system.

This is my opinion so I'm taking the soapbox down lol....

I prefer to get flu shot, the one for Srs in mid October, gives greater protection thru the entire winter. As far as covid shots, not had any in 4 years, that ship has sailed for me.

As you can see from the chart from the CDC below, the flu vaccine is not all that effective.

Every year scientists guess which strains of the flu will be going around and make a vaccine based on that.  Most of the time, they fail.  There are too many variations to get it right.

Sometimes the vaccines are a pure miss and waste of time and sometimes they are better, but they are never 100% effective or even close.
