It was an interesting way to wake up

Since Wednesday's are garbage day I thought

One of the trucks hit a house.

Fifteen miles from the epicenter.

@katie1859 I hope you don't have any damage!  That's a big enough quake to rock  the house, especially if you are basically on top of it!

What a way to start the day!

My first earthquake was in Illinois in 1968.  We felt it in Chicago.

Live in the Northern Illinois area and did not feel this.

I lived in California for a while and I certainly felt earthquakes.

Even felt on previously in Illinois.

DH works from home and he did not feel it either.

Lucky us. Smiley Happy

Couldn't believe it when I heard that this morning on the news. Didn't think earthquakes happened in Illinois!

Earthquakes can happen anywhere and at anytime.  I've lived in So CA all my life and I'm too familiar with quakes.

We've had them in Oklahoma too.

DH and I felt one at the house a few years ago.

Crazy thought - live in tornado alley and never seen one but felt an earthquake!!

My reading glasses are upstairs......what was the magnitude?

Hopefully, not much, if any, damage or injuries.

3.6 magnitude Northern Illinois 11/15/23 it was centered about sixth-tenths of a mile south-south-east of Standard, Illinois. Weak to moderate shaking per article in The Guardian.

The town is 76 miles from me.  I didn't know it happened until I saw this post.
