These arrived last week. If you include a "gift", how much is acceptable?

I don't get the paper and my mail carrier changes often so zero.

@Shanus Depends on the service. When I lived in California, the LA Times left the papers on the front steps of the building. BUT, the lady from the Santa Monica Evening Outlook came up stairs and put the paper by the door. The Times got nada....The Outlook lady got $20 (and that was back in the 90's.)
I don't get the PHX paper. It's nothing but advertising....

We live in a high rise and have no idea who the mail person is. And even when we lived in a single family house, we never gave the mail people anything,

Just the nerve of sending me envelopes to provide a 'gift' would make me sure not to give one. I have never received these envelopes.
Those who provide an exceptional service and don't expect or assume there will be a 'gift', AKA 'tip', are the ones who get a 'gift' from me.
Some people (like those expecting/assuming) need to look up the definition of 'gift'.

US mail carriers and postal workers are prohibited from accepting cash, checks or gift cards.
They are only allowed to accept gifts worth $20 or less and only up to $50 total for any year.
They could lose their job for not following policy. Why would anyone offer them a gift that they are not allowed to accept?
I doubt any mail carrier is leaving envelopes for cash tips.

And why would they provide envelopes to solicit for the 'gift(s)' they aren't allowed to receive?
By providing 'envelopes', they're obviously expecting gift cards, cash, etc., it's not like they're expecting some yummy homemade cookies/candy or a nice candle for their 'gift', by sending a small envelope.

Accepting gifts USPS - it depends on the area. MY mailman accepted - with glee - 2 bottles of wine last year.......... and a neighbor chased him down to my driveway to hand him an envelope.
In fact, I have two wines in a bag right now.....to hand him next delivery to my door.

I've never received an envelope from the mail carrier for a gift.
