Dracula Hanging Upside Down

This looks huge.  May I never encounter one this size. Found in the Philippines and/or Africa.  Giant Flying Fox fruit bat.

 

The body of the bat is only 11 1/2 inches long, wingspan 5 1/2 feet.  I suspect it is longer  stretched out in length when it's hanging, but it looks human size in the photo.  How did the photographer manage to make it look so large?

How big is it?  It looks as large as a human being.

WOW!!! that is an amazing photo. I am a bat fan--well they usually don't freak me out--- but that one made me shudder even tho it eats fruits----Woman Surprised

I'm in the minority here, he's kind of cute.  I'd like to see it in person.

 

One of the zoo shows showed fruit bats and when the keepers talked to them the bats made their way, upside down, to the humans.
