LOL.... I also make lists...hand to paper lists.  Others I know do lists on their phones.  I am old fashion.  I also have a small notebook for notes.  I live and die by my lists.  I would never be able to stay as organized without them.  My old brain needs reminders.  And the comment of I make lists to make lists,,,I do that as well.  Just soo funny.  I know I wasnt the only one.

Since I got “Alexa” she keeps my grocery list and any other list I need. The lists go to my phone. I also keep a calendar on the kitchen counter to write appointments, concerts, birthdays, etc.

yes I make lists.... what I need from the different stores I shop at... things I want to accomplish.... lists of what I accomplished. It centers me and gives me focus to have lists.

Yes I always make lists. I am an organized person, so lists are necessary! My dear departed a Mother told me years before she died that once you start with lists, you will not depend on your good mind to do things, maybe she is right. She lived to almost 92 and did not make lists, her memory wonderful!

Not to go O/T, but you may want to be careful what you say around Alexa!

I'll start another thread about it, but here's the jist:

"Be careful of what you say around your Echo devices.

"A Portland woman was shocked to discover that Echo recorded and sent audio of a private conversation to one of their contacts without their knowledge, according to KIRO 7

The woman, who is only identified as Danielle, said her family had installed the popular voice-activated speakers throughout their home.

It wasn't until a random contact called to let them know that he'd received a call from Alexa that they realized their device had mistakenly transmitted a private conversation."

I read that a while ago and yes that’s scary. Maybe we should move her into one of the spare rooms away from where DH and I have conversations. Or just throw it away and go back to writing our grocery list on index cards. 🤔

NOPE!  Never!!!  My DH came from a long line of list makers, and they did nothing but clutter up his family home!!  I put the kabosh on that shortly after we married!

His family would always forget the list or forget to write something on the list, so I figure, what's the use???

I had a boss many years ago that spent the first 30 minutes of each day REWRITING her list from the day before for all of the items she did not get done.  Seemed like a colalssal waste of time to me!!

I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend, til death, your right to say it

Not as much now that I don't work - there's more room in my head to remember! I still put some things on paper so I remember what I want to buy.

I'll never give up my pen and paper lists. There is nothing old fashioned about efficiency and dependability. If doing everything electronically works for some, they should do it, but there is too much already tied to devices to suit me. I see way too many people already who cannot function in the most basic ways when their device is dead, gone, or broke. I don't intend to become one of them.

And nothing quite feels the same as marking off item by item as I accomplish something.

I make grocery lists, daily to do lists, questions lists for making a call to insurance or other business I need information from. I make lists of gift ideas for the people in my life throughout the year, so I have good ideas for holidays. I make a list of the gifts I have already purchased for each person so I don't forget what I have, or who I'm behind on getting for.

And similar to lists, I have old fashioned address books (one at home and a tiny one in my pures) with all the phone numbers and addresses of those in my life as well as businesses I frequently need to call, so if my phone is not with me or not working, I'm not scrambling to remember or find important numbers quickly.

I still keep a hand written notebook, one page for each month, as a budget book, and I pay my bills weekly from that, as well as plan my savings and spending, and track our income in it as well.

Lists get me motivated, keep me on track, give me a sense of accomplishment, and even provide a record of what I've done and when sometimes.
