Do You Have Fun on April Fools' Day?

I try to call or text my kids with something they might believe. Nothing scary. They are usually so busy I can get away with it. They look forward to me trying to fool them and appreciate my effort. It has been a family tradition since my grandmother used to call my family to tell us there were deer in our back yard. We always went along with it.

Unfortunately, these days there are usually deer in our back yard.

Do you still try to prank anyone?

Yeah, I try. But I can never think of anything good and it's usually something really lame. So the kids always say "Nice try mom"! 😁

Years ago, I'd say at least 40 years ago, someone tricked me at work. It's an old one so probably many of you heard this before. A post-it note was left on my desk. Mr. Lyon called. I called the number, asked "may I please speak to Mr Lion" and it was the Philadelphia zoo. I think about that every April Fool's day. I bet they get calls like that every year.

I used to try only harmless, silly stuff with the kids when they were younger, such as, "Oh look! There's a moose in the yard!" They didn't buy it and they just rolled their eyeballs at me. They in turn put fake spiders on my pillow or rubber snakes under the bed sheets. Silly kids, all just lighthearted laughs!
