I carry Mace/Pepper Spray, (in it's tight leather, custom pouch), hanging off my keyring. I cant even remember if its Mace or Pepper Spray.
(just remember, they dont like that at the Airport, or at Courthouses...they'll confiscate & you'll have to buy another one.. it's GONE)
(I probably need to update this Spray, the leather is pretty worn)
I also have a POLICE WHISTLE hanging off my key ring..
And I have a VERY LOUD, SCARY "53,000,000 V Heavy Duty Stun Gun" just the noise, of which, the largest of men RUN FROM.. when they hear it. It's been well tested... heh
(I'd rather have one that SHOOTS tho ---still checking out the legality)
My keyring,NEVER EVER leaves my side (outside the house), (except when IN the Swimming Pool, & then its locked up in a locked, gym locker, buried)
When I go into a store, I put my keys in my pocket ONLY..... *NOT* EVER EVER..... kept in my purse. EVER.
If they steal my purse, & run off, I can still drive my car,
.. They'll be slowed up to get my car running, even if they "pop the ignition," they'll 1st have to unlock my car's "Club," which is weaved thru & locked to my steering wheel.
... (EVERY car I've owned has been stolen...
. except this 32 yo Camry (antique), with "the CLUB" on it.. all they did was break the window & pop/break the trunk lock.... & couldnt get it running
..... I've wised up!
If they steal my purse, & see my address,
they'll have to find a way to GET to my house location ....
..... & then, break in!
I'll have my house keys in my possession,
... even if they paw thru, and see my address in my purse, "they'll have to break into my house".....(& my neighbors all keep a close eye on one another, & we've already pre-agreed to check out anything irregular with THAT very person)
When I unlock my car to put groceries in the car,
..i put the purse in the car FIRST, & close the car doors!!...
I continue to have my keys at my hand, or readily accessible on my person... , and put my groceries into the car.
If they want to steal my purse, they'll have to open the car door, & crawl into my car first... they'll get sprayed!
(A friend of mine kept her purse in her Shopping Cart, while putting purchases from her Cart into her car, first... and some kid zipped past her, with NO hesitation, grabbed her purse fr her cart, then *POOF* gone)
After awhile, all this becomes 2nd nature, rote, mechanical.....& for me.. WELL WORTH IT..
(They say it takes 21 days to create a "good habit!" It's my habit)
A person in another car, parked beside me, asked me abt the "Club," how long it took to put it on/off. I showed her.... She was shocked how fast it can be, without even thinking! faster 'en pulling a gun from a holster, FAST...... Zip-Zip
I'm STILL going to check out the devices mentioned here, tho
Can't be TOO safe! esp now-a-days ..
