We have Xfinity cable here in Denver and they didn't come to an agreement with Scripps TV Network the people that have ABC affiliates.
So no more ABC using our cable.
Any recommendations for a digital TV antenna? We have a 1 year old smart TV so we're good there.
I believe @Kachina624 you have experience with these things?
TIA

i got 2 from Amazon, gets the channels we want, but not all available which i think depends on where you live and if you want a fancier option
easy to install
worth doing a bit of research

Check with Best Buy!!!! We have a Samsung Smart TV and we went to Best Buy and bought the antenna from them. It is situated on the window behind our tv and no problem!!! Best Buy is so good and if you have ant questions they will help you all!!!!

We have this $20 paddle-like thing that's connected to the TV and which we hang on a wall near the window. Not flashy but it works.

we have one for when cable goes total out. i use it on a reg. tv-not smart. It's a square plastic that you suction cup to a window. Suppose to get everything in a 50mi. radius, not sure that it does. it picks up much more that i thought it would. It also depends on your location we are country and lots of trees. I got mine from amazon.

We had need for one several years ago and bought this one at Walmart. It is very discreet! It can sit on top of your TV or you can attach it to the wall behind your TV. It worked wonderfully.

I've been using digital ota ( over the air ) antenna for about seven years. Paid less than $20 for it and it works great. Bought mine at Amazon.

I bought an OTA antenna several years ago with thoughts of cutting the cord.
There is a website where you can enter your zip code and it will tell you how many channels you can expect to get. When I entered my zip code, some of the stations were iffy but I ordered it anyway to see how it would work. (I purchased mine from HSN so knew I could easily return if it didn't work.) I had to play with placement of the antenna but it works like a charm. Was able to get all the major stations, QVC, HSN and about 50 others, mostly old TV shows.
I use mine primarily on an extra TV that I watch in the kitchen while I cook. (I have yet to cut the cord.) But it has come in handy during the few times the cable has gone out. The transmission is in HD so the picture it great.
I think you can't go wrong if you go to Best Buy (as already suggested) or some other retailer where you can return it if it doesn't work as you expect. Most are not expensive.
Good luck!

@rockygems123. I paid $12 for my over-the-air antenna at Amazon. You need one for each TV. There is only one screw-in place on a TV. If you have cable, your cable is already in that place so you need a "splitter" to screw in 2 items. Used to be so easy to get such things at Radio Shack. I assume Best Buy or Amazon will have them. Besides that installation is simple. I did it myself with no help. I didn't have cable so didn't have to use a splitter.
It's amazing how often being able to view local channels comes in handy.
