A poster who's name I unfortunately forgot mentioned hearing this during a Joel Olsteen sermon.I think this message is a valuable tool that we could all use in today's world.I will be enforcing this in my own life and I hope others will join me.

I look forward to Joel Osteen's services every Sunday morning.  (Missed last week's, but I believe I can watch/listen online on his site.) Anyway, I've been using the word 'mean' people re: the latest Oregon incident.  I do believe that some people are just plain 'mean'.  Same with some animals, in the wild and/or domestic.  Some are trained to be that way, at a young age, similar to attack dogs.  Mean is mean, and sometimes it's not a mental problem, just extensive training by parents, groups, etc.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

I just purposed something like that on Chat.

Our radio stations and other outlets are full of mean, and there are people who listen to it all day.

I wish we could delete all of that.

Most good people can and will delete 'mean'.  But, the others ('mean' ones).........not so.  Bad breed bad.  Mean breed mean, more or less.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

I will continue to be nice when others are mean.I won't let them change my heart and will continue to believe that if people delete mean from their hearts it will lose its impact.Thank you all for your thoughts.

Re: Delete mean

Whenever I hear the word "MEAN," I think of Taylor Swift's song by that name. Some of the words... You, with your words like knives And swords and weapons that you use against me You, have knocked me off my feet again, Got me feeling like a nothing You, with your voice like nails On a chalk board, calling me out when I'm wounded...

Great song.

I think the anonymity of the Internet led to mean words being expressed without consequences. That's been bad enough but it appears that some have taken it a step further, carrying those toxic words to TV, talk radio, and in-person confrontations. It's just plain awful!
