Beautiful Nature - I am leaning towards the Owl being my totem, she is wise and represents the night. She uses her voice to attract those she loves, and stand up to those who threaten her...She is truly a magnificent animal.:

@luvsbulldogs We will be celebrating Christmas in England this year. We travel to the States to visit with my family in January. The flat goes on the market by the end of the year, so we hope to be permanently back in the States by summer.

Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Re: December 2015 Bird's Nest - Where Bells are Ringing

Possum, Miss Blackie peeking through the Christmas decoration, Cute!! She would have them in completely disarray. LOL.

Luvs, Hummer normally do not leave here except for perhaps 1 to 2 weeks in late May. Course these days we have only a handful of Hummers - they use to be everywhere. I always use to find it interesting that even in the snow the Hummers were out playing and zipping around. So pretty to watch.

The other day was talking to a neighbor who is a bird fancier. He mentioned the lack of Hummers along with the other birds I also have noticed were no longer around - he does not understand it either. Had to chuckle however, he FINALLY admitted all the doves flitting around came from him. He let them all go some years back - he did not explain why but do know a lot of the neighbors always thought that is what happened and were angry with him but at any rate he said "I see a lot of my birds are still around." Interesting. I have mentioned here several times that we never had one until perhaps 8 years or so ago - they just showed up overnight. Now for sure I know why. He seems to go through raising critters for a spell and then changes the critters. He has bred pit bulls, boxers, different birds, etc and I do not believe he is raising anything there. Do not understand why other than I know someone filed a complaint about him some years ago. Weird. His animals have never been a bother to anyone - his dogs were well trained and not barkers.

Hope all have a good day - we are expecting rain tomorrow for the rest of the week and the temps will also drop - today we are suppose to have 80. I love it!!!

@Winifred

Did you neighbor keep doves as pets?  Geez, I guess it's good they weren't so traumatized by being released that they still know where to come back and eat.
