Hello my friends! Hope your day is going well, here's it's raining two days in a row - miss the sun! Getting my hair cut tomorrow here - Georgia, my stylest comes here and has for the last couple of years, that is a blessing to me! We have coffee, and a nice visit. Had a nice long visit on the phone with my sister, Deil, this afternoon. She is 93, and so busy with her house and yard!! She is a blessing.
Build a Box of Friendship
Into a box of friendship
To insure that it is strong
First a layer of respect
On the bottom does belong
Then to the sides attach
In the corners where they meet
Several anchors full of trust
Devoid of all deceit
The height of friendship can be measured
By the sides of four
So make them all a larger cut
And the box will hold much more
Now fill it up with courtesy
Honor and esteem
Understanding, sympathy
And passion for a dream
Add to that your honesty
Emotions joy and love
And since they're so important
Place them up above
But leave the box wide open
So all can see inside
To learn what makes a friendship work
From the box you built with pride
Prudence
During the Second World War, Winston Churchill was explaining to a prominent
Frenchman why the British seemed so inactive and unwilling to fight.
"We are like a lobster," he said. "At certain times of its life, the lobster
loses its protective shell. During that period of molting, even the bravest
lobster hides away in a crevice in a rock. He waits there patiently for his
new shell to grow. As soon as it is hard enough, he will come out and fight
with anybody.
"Well, England at this moment, due to some of its imprudent ministers, has
lost its protective shell. So we just have to grow a new one. A time like
this is not wise for action. Our time will come, when we have grown back our
shell and are strong."
The moral of the story is that it is sometimes wiser to run away than to
stay. If certain people always make you angry, avoid them. If some place
makes you sin, avoid it. Courage is not recklessness. There is no virtue in
running risks. God's grace is not meant to protect the foolish but the
prudent.
Once there was a man who dared God to speak.
"Burn the bush like you did for Moses, God. And I will follow."
"Collapse the walls like you did for Joshua, God. And I will fight."
"Still the waves like you did on Galilee, God. And I will listen."
And so the man sat by a bush, near a wall, close to the sea and waited for God to speak.
And God heard the man, so God answered.
He sent fire, not for a bush, but for a church.
He brought down a wall, not of brick, but of sin.
He stilled a storm, not of the sea, but of the soul.
And God waited for the man to respond.
And he waited...
And he waited...
And waited.
Finally he looked to God and asked, "Have you lost your power?"
And God looked at him and said, "Have you lost your hearing?"

November 17 - Jesus Calling
There is no condemnation for those who are in Me. The law of the Spirit of Life has set you free from the law of sin and death. Not many Christians know how to live in this radical freedom, which is their birthright. I died to set you free; live freely in Me!
To walk along the path of freedom, you must keep your mind firmly fixed on Me. Many voices proclaim: “This is the way for you to go,” but only My voice tells you the true way. If you follow the way of the world with all its glitter and glamour, you will descend deeper and deeper into an abyss. Christian voices also can lead you astray: “Do this!” “Don’t do that!” “Pray this way!” “Don’t pray that way!” If you listen to all those voices, you will become increasingly confused.
Be content to be a simple sheep, listening for My voice and following Me. I will lead you into restful green pastures and guide you along paths of righteousness.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. —Romans 8:1–2
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” —Isaiah 30:21
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” —John 10:27The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. —Psalm 23:1–3
