Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello my friends!  Hope your Wednesday is going great!!!  Counting your blessings?  We've had rain 3 days in a row now!!  Would just love some sun! And it will come very soon!! Today's blessing - I'm starting to like it here at the apartment - my stylist was here - got my red color freshened up!! My husband likes it! I'm still a bit stubborn about letting it go gray even though I'm 75.

When your world turns upside down and everything seems so frightening,
thank God for His unchanging and constant love. Lord, Your love is the same
yesterday, today and tomorrow. In You I am safe and cared for.

S C R I P T U R E   F O R   T H E   D A Y

"He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and
multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your
righteousness.  You will be enriched in every way for your great
generosity, which will produce thanksgiving to God through us; for the
rendering of this ministry not only supplies the needs of the saints
but also overflows with many thanksgivings to God."  ~2 Corinthians
9:10-12

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I believe that God had already seen my heart's needs before I cried to
God, before I was conscious of those needs myself.  I believe that God
was already preparing the answer.  God does not have to be petitioned
with sighs and tears and much speaking before God reluctantly looses
the desired help.  God has already anticipated our every want and
need.  I can try to see this, and humbly receive all that God has to
offer me.

I pray that I may understand my real wants and needs.  I pray that my
understanding of those needs and wants may help to bring the answer to
them.

TO SEE IN THE DARK
By: Bro. Andrew Maria, MMHC

A boy and his father are walking through a large forest. To cross to
the other side, they have to pass through a long dark tunnel. The boy
hesitates at the entrance.

"Father," the boy says, "how can I walk in there when it is so dark?
I
will not see where I am going. We have neither candles nor torches to
light our way."

The father calmly tells his son, "Once inside, close your eyes for
several minutes to give them a chance to get accustomed to the dark.
When you open them again, I assure you that you will be able to see
the way through the tunnel."

The boy does what his father has told him. After closing his eyes for
sometime, he is able to see inside the tunnel. Through it is very
dark, he and his father are able to cross safely to the other side.

"Son," the father tells him, "if you don't have anything with which
to light the darkness, use darkness to see in the dark."

A PRAYER WHEN YOU FEEL ALONE

Almighty God, enter my heart and mind so that I no longer feel so alone in the world. Let me have patience with myself so that I learn to enjoy my own company. Be the light in my life, so that the darkness of my heart will be illuminated by your love for me. Grant me the hope to know that I will not always be alone. Help me make friends that love me for who I am and not for what I do. Let me grow in wisdom and love for other people so that I can become a light to others. Amen.

His Inward Voice

Retire from the world each day to some private spot.... Stay in the secret
till the surrounding noises begin to fade out
of your heart and a sense of God's presence envelops you..... Listen for the
inward Voice till you learn to recognize
it.....Give yourself to God and then be what and who you are without regard
to what others think... Learn to pray
inwardly every moment.

Enter into the inner chamber of your mind.. Shut out all things save God and
whatever may aid you in seeking God;
and having barred the door of your chamber, seek Him. Within each of us
there is an inner place where the living
God Himself longs to dwell, our sacred center of belief.

He who has faith has.....an inward reservoir of courage, hope, confidence,
calmness, and assuring trust that all
will come out well, even though to the world it may appear to come out most
badly.

Remember when you give Him your heart, God chooses to live within you...body
and soul. And you should know that He
is really as close as your breathing. His very Spirit is inside of you.

I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power
through His Spirit in your inner being.

Ephesians 3:16

THE 7 UPS!
Author Unknown

1. Wake Up !!

Decide to have a good day.
"This is the day the Lord hath made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Psalms 118:24

2. Dress Up !!

The best way to dress up is to put on a smile.
A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
"The Lord does not look at the things man looks at.
Man looks at outward appearance,
But the Lord looks at the heart."
I Samuel 16:7

3. Shut Up!!

Say nice things and learn to listen.
God gave us two ears and one mouth,
So He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as
talking.

"He who guards his lips guards his soul."
Proverbs 13:3

4. Stand Up!!

. . . For what you believe in.
Stand for something or you will fall for anything.
"Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time,
We will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..."
Galatians 6:9-10

5. Look Up !!

. . . To the Lord.
"I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me".
Philippians 4:13

6. Reach Up !!
. . . For something higher.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not unto your own understanding.
In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path."
Proverbs 3:5-6

7. Lift Up !!
. . . Your Prayers.
"Do not worry about anything; instead
PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING."
Philippians 4:6

November 18 - Jesus Calling

Come to Me, and rest in My Peace. My Face is shining upon you, in rays of Peace transcending understanding. Instead of trying to figure things out yourself, you can relax in the Presence of the One who knows everything. As you lean on Me in trusting dependence, you feel peaceful and complete. This is how I designed you to live: in close communion with Me.

When you are around other people, you tend to cater to their expectations—real or imagined. You feel enslaved to pleasing them, and your awareness of My Presence grows dim. Your efforts to win their approval eventually exhaust you. You offer these people dry crumbs rather than the living water of My Spirit flowing through you. This is not My way for you! Stay in touch with Me, even during your busiest moments. Let My Spirit give you words of grace as you live in the Light of My Peace.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. —Philippians 4:6–7

“Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” —John 7:38

Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. —Ephesians 5:18–20
