Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Hello my friends!  It was a nice day today, I had the twins in their bouncers in the livingroom with shades up, and they slept well there, I hardly went into the bedroom at all.  Darla and Greg were surprised how well they slept, and even with us talking, they didn't wake up.  I told them that's how to do it.  Here I thought I'd have the rest of the week off, but her Mother in Law got sick, her husband had pneumonia, but she has a cough and cold, so she couldn't come.  So I changed my appointments around got them rescheduled and will be there tomorrow and Thursday, but I told them not Friday. That appointment I will keep.  And if I get Monday off too, if her Mother in Law can come next week, I'll have a nice, long weekend.  Those little girls are really growing!! It's fun to see that.  They've out grown their preemie sleepers!

They are so cute!  Tomorrow night we will be celebrating Darla's birthday, a week late but that's how it is to get the family together.  She wants cheesecake, and Pizza, and she wants family pictures taken with the twins.  Should be a fun night.  May God bless your Wednesday!

Treat your family with care.  They should always be your biggest blessing
and source of joy.  Lord, help me speak with gentleness to my family and
be their trusted teacher of Your ways.

I can keep a time apart with God every day.  I can be transformed mentally
and spiritually.  It is not the praying so much as just being in God's
presence.  The strengthening and curative powers of this I cannot
understand, because such knowledge is beyond human understanding, but I can
experience them.  The poor, sick world could be cured if every day each soul
waited before God for the inspiration to live aright. My greatest spiritual
growth can occur in this time apart with God.

I pray that I may faithfully keep a quiet time apart with God.  I pray that
I may grow spiritually each day.

TROUBLE TREE
Author Unknown

The carpenter I hired to help me restore an old farmhouse had just
finished a rough first day on the job. A flat tire made him lose an
hour of work, his electric saw quit, and now his ancient pickup truck
refused to start.

While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence. On arriving, he
invited me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door,
he paused briefly at a small tree, touching tips of the branches with
both hands.

When opening the door, he underwent an amazing transformation. His
tanned face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two small
children and gave his wife a kiss.

Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my curiosity
got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do
earlier. "Oh, that's my trouble tree," he replied. "I know I can't
help having troubles on the job, but one thing's for sure, troubles
don't belong in the house with my wife and the children. So I just
hang them up on the tree every night when I come home. Then in the
morning I pick them up again."

"Funny thing is," he smiled, "when I come out in the morning to pick
'em up, there ain't nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night
before."

St. Lawrence  - Feast Day Aug. 9

Precious Lord, Saint Lawrence protected the Church's money from the Roman Empire by giving it to the poor. When the greedy prefect of Rome demanded the Church's treasures, Saint Lawrence presented to him the poor and the sick, announcing, "This is the Church's treasure!" I ask him to pray for me to learn how to use material goods only for Your glory. Guide me as I share what I've stored up so that I make good decisions about where it should go. Help me to love the needy more than I love money and give me eyes to see all Your people as precious gems in Your crown of glory. Saint Lawrence, pray for me. Amen.

Consecration Prayer to Mary

Hail, White Lily of the ever peaceful and glorious Trinity! Hail Vermilion Rose, the Delight of Heaven, of whom, the King of Heaven was born, and by whose milk He was nourished! Do thou forever feed our souls by the effusions of your divine influences.

Amen

A KINDNESS A DAY
By Marie Jacquelyne Clement

I am always helping people in one way or another. One day I was
listening to a friend; I told her that I try to do one act of kindness
everyday in hopes it will eradicate a sin I may have unconsciously
committed in the Book of Life.

When I finished talking my husband said, "May I ride with you today
When you go do the grocery shopping?" Surprised he would ask me that, I
didn't question his request and said, "Sure why not, then we can spend
some time together as you are always busy."

So we left and spent the whole day together. When we got home and put
away the groceries. I thanked him for being so kind as to come with me.
He answered, "M.J., the real reason that I went with you is because you
always tell people to do just one act of kindness, like eating an apple
a day, keeps the Devil away, so I asked to ride with you to see if it
was true."

Surprised I asked why and he replied, "Because I wanted to see if you
practiced what you preach and trust me, I will never doubt anything you
say again."
He said:
(1) When we got in the van, you let the car across from us go first
while watching that no car was coming from behind and you signaled him
to go.
(2) When we reached the stop, you signaled for people to cross the
street saying that this way you protect them at least when you are at
the stop sign because most drivers don't care about people, they just
want to be on their way.
(3) On the freeway you signaled the trailer trucks when you were
letting them take the lane and slowed down to give them space to change
lanes, saying that they had a delivery to make on time and that you had
all the time in the world.
(4) When we arrived in the store parking lot as you went to take a
spot, someone else just swiped in front of you and we had to go all the
way to the back. You never got angry. You said, "Well, maybe he has
sore legs and needs to be closer," and you laughed. (I was walking with
a cane at the time)
(5) As we arrived at the entrance door, you opened the door and let an
elderly couple in saying, "Beauty before age."
Well when I counted up 25 acts of kindness I stopped counting because
your one act of kindness just rolls into many more. I couldn't believe
it; you are so kind that I am sure that in the Good Book it will
outweigh whatever you do wrong. From now on I will also do your one act
of kindness a day, and I will never doubt anything you say you do ever
again.

I laughed and said, "Kindness is like a box of chocolates, when I open
the box, I can never eat just one. I finish the box!" Which is true,
that is why I don't buy a whole box; it doesn't last the day. But I am
so used to being kind that I don't even notice I am doing it. It is
just loving my fellow man. Jesus did say "love thy neighbor as

thyself."

August 9 - Jesus Calling

Wear My robe of righteousness with ease. I custom-made it for you, to cover you from head to toe. The price I paid for this covering was astronomical—My own blood. You could never purchase such a royal garment, no matter how hard you worked. Sometimes you forget that My righteousness is a gift, and you feel ill at ease in your regal robe. I weep when I see you squirming under the velvety fabric, as if it were made of scratchy sackcloth.

I want you to trust Me enough to realize your privileged position in My kingdom. Relax in the luxuriant folds of your magnificent robe. Keep your eyes on Me, as you practice walking in this garment of righteousness. When your behavior is unfitting for one in My kingdom, do not try to throw off your royal robe. Instead, throw off the unrighteous behavior. Then you will be able to feel at ease in this glorious garment, enjoying the gift I fashioned for you before the foundation of the world.

I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
—Isaiah 61:10

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
—2 Corinthians 5:21

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
—Ephesians 4:22–24

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Bet seeing the twins is such joy and knowing that each day is different and that they are growing must be the best. Many blessings to you and the twins, Darla and Greg!  Embrace each moment.

We are getting more heat and maybe some rain in MA but the rain is so needed.  Everything looks so tired and dry.  A few rainy days will be ok for sure.

Hope everyone has a lovely day, filled with joy andhappiness.  Hope the ordinary miracles fill your day.

Peace, Nancy

So nice hearing all the good stuff about the twins.

It's amazing that you got them in those bouncers already.

That must be so cute, and they probably have a lot of fun.

I hope you get news on all of your tests, especialy the one on Friday, and

the other ones when you get to them.

Blessings to all.
