Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Hello my friends!  Nice day here today, Snow all done falling - for now, roads are good!  We got about 4 inches! When DH takes Sammy down to the field, he sure enjoys the snow!!  Supper today was Spagetti and Meatballs - with a glass of wine.  Good for the health. Today I was so busy re-organizing all my spices - holy cow! that sure was a job, now everything is organized and in a moe convenient places, hope I remember. I had some old tarrigon, carrigon and ground ginger root, can't remember what for, what do you use those for?  Maybe I should just throw them out.  It was kinda fun doing it and deciding where I want them.

Be a patient person but, most of all, be patient with yourself. Lord, may

I be blessed with a calm spirit and diligence as I do my work today.

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."  ~Psalm
119:105

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

God can take our efforts for good and bless them.  God appreciates our
efforts.  We need God's blessing.  Together they mean spiritual success.
Our efforts are necessary.  We cannot merely relax and drift with the tide.
We can often direct our efforts against the tide of materialism around us.
When difficulties come, our efforts are needed to surmount them.  But God
can direct our efforts into the right channels and God's power is necessary
to help us choose the right.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that I may choose the right.  I pray that I may have God's blessing
and direction in all my efforts for good.

A Prayer for Australia Day - January 26th

We bless you, God of the universe, for this land,
for its contrasts of landscape and climate,
for its abundance of wealth and opportunity.
We bless you for our history,
with all its struggle in adversity,
its courage and hope,
Give us in our diversity
tolerance and respect for each other
and a passionate commitment to justice for all.
Bless us so that we might be a blessing to others.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

DAILY   PRAYER   OF   CONSECRATION

My God and Father, in the name of Jesus, I come to You. Take me as I am. Make me what I ought to be; in spirit, in soul and body. Give me power to do right, if  I've wronged any, to repent, to confess no matter what the cost. Wash me in the Blood of Jesus, that I may become Your child and manifest You in a perfect spirit, a holy mind and a sickless body. AMEN.

You are holy, Lord,
the only God,
and Your deeds are wonderful.
You are strong.
You are great.
You are the Most High.
You are Almighty.
You, Holy Father are King of heaven and earth.
You are Three and One, Lord God, all Good.
You are Good, all Good, supreme Good, Lord God, living and true.
You are love.
You are wisdom.
You are humility.
You are endurance.
You are rest.
You are peace.
You are joy and gladness.
You are justice and moderation.
You are all our riches, and You suffice for us.
You are beauty.
You are gentleness.
You are our protector.
You are our guardian and defender.
You are our courage.
You are our haven and our hope.
You are our faith, our great consolation.
You are our eternal life, Great and Wonderful Lord, God Almighty, Merciful Saviour.

St. Francis of Assisi

TO EACH HIS OWN
Author Unknown

I cannot change the way I am,
 I never really try,
God made me different and unique,
 I never ask him why.

 If I appear peculiar,
 There's nothing I can do,
You must accept me as I am,
 As I've accepted you.

God made a casting of each life,
 Then threw the mold away,
Each child is different from the rest,
 Unlike as night from day.

 So often we will criticize,
 The things that others do,
But, do you know, they do not think,
The same as me and you.

So God in all his wisdom,
Who knows us all by name,
He didn't want us to be bored,
That's why we're not the same

Strange..

Strange how simple it is for people to trash God and
then wonder why the world's going to hell.

Strange how we believe what the newspapers say,
but question what the Bible says.

Strange how everyone wants to go to heaven
provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the Bible says.

Strange how someone can say
"I believe in God" but still follow Satan
(who, by the way, also "believes" in God).

Strange how jokes spread like wildfire,
but we think twice about sharing messages regarding the Lord.

Strange how someone can be so fired up for Christ on Sunday,
but be an invisible Christian the rest of the week.

Strange how I can be more worried about what other people think of me
than what God thinks of me.

Help Me Lord, to grow closer to You, to love you without fear or hesitation, and to become a better Christian.

Help us to find You in our lives and see You in each other. Give us the strength to trust in You completely and truly believe that, as our Father, You have plans of happiness for each of us, even though sometimes it feels as though we are waiting forever.

HOLDING PATTERN
Author Unknown

Many times God will allow a painful situation or a painful
circumstance in our life to "swallow us up." This season in our
spiritual growth is a holding pattern. We can't move to the left or
the right. All we can do is sit, like Jonah sat in the belly of that
great fish, so God can have our undivided attention and speak to us.
God put Jonah in a holding pattern because He needed to speak to his
heart. Jonah was all alone. There were no friends to call, no
colleagues to drop by, no books to read, no food to eat, no
interference, and no interruptions. He had plenty of time to sit,
think, meditate, and pray.

When we're deep down in the midst of a difficult situation, God can
talk to us. When He has our undivided attention, He can show us things
about ourselves that we might not otherwise have seen.

A Few of God's Holding Patterns:

1. When you are sick in your physical body and you have prayed but God
has not healed you yet, you are in a holding pattern

2. When you are having problems with your children and you have put
them on the altar, but God has not delivered them yet, you are in a
holding pattern.

3. When you have been praying for the salvation of a loved one and
they have not been saved yet, you are in a holding pattern.

4. When you are in a broken relationship and you have given it over to
God, but it has not been restored yet, you are in a holding pattern.

5. When the doors slam shut before you can knock on them, you are in a
holding pattern.

When we are deep in the belly of a difficult situation, there are no
interruptions. God has our undivided attention. All we can do is sit,
think, meditate, and pray. We cannot run from God because there are no
Mountains that are high enough, valleys low enough, rooms that are
dark enough, or places that are hidden enough from Him. We must
remember to praise Him while we're waiting and remember three things:

1. The pattern has a purpose.

2. The pattern has a plan.

3. The pattern has a process.

So stop struggling and start listening, praying and trusting. He'll
keep you right where you are until you can clearly hear Him say, "I
love you."

Prayer: Father, forgive my unbelief. I know You Love me and will turn
anything around to benefit me. You have planned nothing for me but
victories and I am ready to receive them regardless of how difficult
the path. Amen

The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance
between your knees and the floor. The one who kneels to the Lord can
stand up to anything.

January 26 - Jesus Calling

Give up the illusion that you deserve a problem-free life. Part of you is still hungering for the resolution of all difficulties. This is a false hope! As I told My disciples, in the world you will have trouble. Link your hope not to problem solving in this life but to the promise of an eternity of problem-free life in heaven. Instead of seeking perfection in this fallen world, pour your energy into seeking Me: the Perfect One.

It is possible to enjoy Me and glorify Me in the midst of adverse circumstances. In fact, My Light shines most brightly through believers who trust Me in the dark. That kind of trust is supernatural: a production of My indwelling Spirit. When things seem all wrong, trust Me anyway. I am much less interested in right circumstances than in right responses to whatever comes your way.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
—John 16:33

Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man… He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
—Psalm 112:4, 7

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

That sounds familiar Gloria.

I was looking for something in my spice rack yesterday and found

3 of those little cans of Cardimum, I haven't the slightest

idea of what I used that for, LOL!!

Blessings to all.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Thanks Harlene and Quack, glad you like the Jesus Calling piece.

I have that book, too.

Harlene, I did throw out those spices I never use.  They are very old anyway.
