Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Greetings to all!  Inspirationals will be shortened tonight because I cannot send out of gmail anymore, anything duplicate goes undeliverable. I have some on msn, will try to get 4 out.  Having a computer guy over tomorrow to help me with my list - which I've been doing for 12 years plus, and now it's being undeliverable - maybe there's something he can do.  On the positive side, had a guest over for lunch today to see the apartment, high school classmate of mine, and sister of Fr. Jerry's, so she's my cousin, too.  Made some good chicken vegetable soup and we had a great visit.

Forget the useless and unhealthy things of your past that clutter your mind so
that you can live a life that is alive and vibrant. Lord, help me to discard all
that clouds my day so that I am able to live the life that You intend me to live.

"Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."
~Matthew 6:10

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

"Your will be done" can be our often repeated prayer.  And in the
willing of God's will there can be gladness.  We can delight to do
God's will because when we do, all our life can go better and
everything will tend to work well for us in the long run.  When we are
honestly trying to do God's will and humbly accepting the results,
nothing can seriously hurt us.  Those of us who accept the will of God
in our lives may not inherit the earth, but we can inherit real peace
of mind.

I pray that I may have a yielded will.  I pray that my will may be
attuned to the will of God.

DON'T FORGET TO SMILE
Author Unknown

A little girl walked to and from school daily. Though the weather that
morning was questionable and clouds were forming, she made her daily
trek to the elementary school. As the afternoon progressed, the winds
whipped up, along with thunder and lightning. The mother of the little
girl felt concerned that her daughter would be frightened as she walked home
from school and she herself feared that the electrical storm might
harm her child.

Following the roar of thunder, lightning, like a flaming sword, would
cut through the sky. Full of concern, the mother quickly got into her
car and drove along the route to her child's school. As she did so,
she saw her little girl walking along, but at each flash of lightning,
the child would stop, look up and smile. Another and another were to follow quickly
and with each the little girl would look at the streak of light and smile.

When the mother's car drove up beside the child she lowered the window
and called to her, "What are you doing? Why do you keep stopping?"

The child answered, "I am trying to look pretty, God keeps taking my
picture.

May God bless you today as you face the storms that come your way.

And don't forget to smile!

A Full Jar‏

A Full Jar

A Full JarOne day an expert in time management was speaking to a group of business students and to drive home a point, he used an illustration those students will never forget.
As he stood in front of the group of high-powered overachievers he said, “Okay, time for a quiz.”

Following that, he pulled out a one-gallon, wide mouth mason jar and set it on the table in front of him. He took out about a dozen fist-sized rocks and carefully placed them, one at a time, into the jar.
When the jar was filled to the top and no more rocks would fit inside, he asked, “Is this jar full?”
Everyone in the class said, “Yes.”

Then he said, “Really?”
He reached under the table and pulled out a bucket of gravel. He dumped some gravel in and shook the jar causing pieces of gravel to work themselves down into the space between the big rocks.
Subsequently, he asked the group once more, “Is the jar full?”
By this time the class was on to him.
“Probably not.” One of them answered.

“Good.” He replied.
He reached under the table and brought out a bucket of sand. He started dumping the sand into the jar and it went into all of the spaces left between the rocks and the gravel.
Once more he asked the question, “Is this jar full?”
“No!” The class shouted.

Once again he said, “Good.”
He grabbed a pitcher of water and began to pour it in until the jar was filled to the brim.
Then he looked at the class and asked, “What is the point of this illustration?”
One eager beaver raised his hand and said, “The point is no matter how full your schedule is; you can always fit more things in it if you try hard enough.”
“No, that’s not the point.” The speaker replied.
“The illustration teaches us that if you don’t put the big rocks in first, you’ll never get them in at all.”

What are the big rocks in your life? Time with your loved ones? Faith, education or your dreams? A worthy cause? Teaching or mentoring others? Remember to put these Big Rocks in first or you’ll never get them in at all.

Hence when you are reflecting on this short story, ask yourself this question, “What are the big rocks in my life?”

Then, put those in your jar first.

October 13 - Jesus Calling

Take time to be still in My Presence. The more hassled you feel, the more you need this sacred space of communion with Me. Breathe slowly and deeply. Relax in My holy Presence while My Face shines upon you. This is how you receive My Peace, which I always proffer to you.

Imagine the pain I feel when My children tie themselves up in anxious knots, ignoring My gift of Peace. I died a criminal’s death to secure this blessing for you. Receive it gratefully; hide it in your heart. My Peace is an inner treasure, growing within you as you trust in Me. Therefore, circumstances cannot touch it. Be still, enjoying Peace in My Presence.
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” —Psalm 46:10

“The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” —Numbers 6:25–26

Hi gloriajean.  My brother and sister-in-law are reeling in shock.  It was a suicide of a popular and likeable 17 yr. old (he is my brother and sister-in-laws step grandchild).   He was active in school and church and went on many mission trips, etc.  He was very well liked. It has been said of him...that  "his smile lit up a room when he walked into it".  My heart breaks for his family.  He was a senior in high school....had everything to live for. Would you please pray for this family today?
