Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends!  Today my husband will be paying for a new fridge for us from work!!  I can hardly wait for it to be delivered, maybe even tomorrow!  We are allowed here at this apartment to get our own appliances if we want, the ones here just get into storage until we leave then they put them back again.  The dishwasher will be next.  Can hardly wait to get rid of this noisy dishwasher for a nice quiet one we used to have.   He waits until he can get a good price from his boss, nice advantage of working there!  The fridge will have the freezer at the bottom, with two sliding out trays.  Good to have the fridge higher and not have to do so much bending.

That's my blessings for today!!

Keep yourself young in spirit always by thinking new thoughts and getting
rid of old habits. Lord, may my spirit never become a frail and my abilities
never become barren.

"Jesus turned and said to Peter, 'Get behind me, Satan! You are a
stumbling block to me; for you are setting your mind not on divine things
but on human things. 'Then Jesus told his disciples, 'If any want to become
my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow
me.  For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose
their life for my sake will find it.'"  ~Matthew 16:23-25

We were born with the Divine within us.  Living a selfish life can hinder
the Divine from being expressed and shared.  The celestial fire has to be
tended and fed so that it will grow into a real desire to live the right
way.  By trying to do the will of God, we grow more and more in the new way
of life.  By thinking of God, praying to God and having communion with God,
we gradually grow more like God.  The way of our transformation from the
material to the spiritual allows God to work in and through us.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that I may tend the spark of the Divine within me so that it will
grow.  I pray that I may be gradually transformed from the old life to the
new and fuller life.

WHY ME?

I asked God why I wasn't rich.
And He showed me a man with the wealth of a thousand kings, who was lonely,
and had no one to share it with.

I asked God why I wasn't beautiful.
And He showed me a woman more beautiful than any other, who was ugly
because of her vanity.

I asked God why he'd allowed me to become old.
And He showed me a boy of 16, who lay dead at the scene of a car accident.

I asked God why I didn't have a bigger house.
And He showed me a family of six, who'd just been evicted from their tiny
shack, and were forced to live on the street.

I asked God why I had to work.
And He showed me a man who couldn't find a decent job, because he'd never
learned to read.

I asked God why I wasn't more popular.
And He showed me a socialite with a thousand friends, who all left the
moment the money and parties were no longer there.

I asked God why I wasn't smarter.
And He showed me a natural born genius, who was serving life in prison for
making ill use of his knowledge.

I asked God why He put up with a thankless sinner like me.
And He showed me His Bible, and His Son who took my place at the judgment.
And I knew then how much He loved me.

What's eating you today?
Are your problems weighing heavy on your heart?

Know, then, that you are loved.
And have a WONDERFUL day!
Then brighten someone else's day, in any way you care to.

Remember, a candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.
Just reach out and touch someone's life and brighten up their day.

Prayer of St. Gemma Galgani to obtain a desired grace

Behold me at Your most holy feet, O dear Jesus, to manifest to you my gratitude for the continual favors which You have bestowed upon me, and still wish to bestow upon me. As many times as I have invoked You, O Jesus, You have made me content; I have often had recourse to You and You have always consoled me. How shall I express myself to You, dear Jesus? I thank you! Yet one more grace I desire of you, O my God, if it would be pleasing to You (here mention your request). If you were not omnipotent, I would not make this request. O Jesus, have pity on me. May your most holy will be done in all things"

Verse of the Day

"Surely there is no one on earth so righteous as to do good without ever sinning. Do not give heed to everything that people say, or you may hear your servant cursing you; your heart knows that many times you have yourself cursed others."

Ecclesiastes 7:20-21

April 11 - Jesus Calling

This is the day that I have made. Rejoice and be glad in it. Begin the day with open hands of faith, ready to receive all that I am pouring into this brief portion of your life. Be careful not to complain about anything, even the weather, since I am the Author of your circumstances. The best way to handle unwanted situations is to thank Me for them. This act of faith frees you from resentment and frees Me to work My ways into the situation, so that good emerges from it.

To find Joy in this day, you must live within its boundaries. I knew what I was doing when I divided time into twenty-four-hour segments. I understand human frailty, and I know that you can bear the weight of only one day at a time. Do not worry about tomorrow or get stuck in the past. There is abundant Life in My Presence today./span>

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
—Psalm 118:24

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
—Philippians 3:13–14

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello friends...

Gloria, your new frig sounds very nice.  I have a side by side frige and freezer and the freezer is a bit too small. Well, it's just me here.  I make due.  I am getting a new dishwasher too.  What make are you planning to buy?

My back is inproving.  Dr. said it is arthritis.  Who said getting old was fun?

I pray to the Lord everyday.  He watches over me and has all my life.  I remember my very first prayer to Jesus.  I was 13 and asked Jesus to help me lose weight.  That summer I lost 70 pounds.  Jesus answered my prayer.  He is indeed the Father of the fatherless and husband to the widow.  Praise the name of the Lord!

Have a good day today everyone and may God watch over each one of you.
