Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends! Well, today was fine, but big snow storm is a comin' again during the night and tomorrow!! It's been mild, but now wow! we are being blasted!! I called my sister, Deil, today, she is fine, but says she will need some surgery on her toe, so said I'd pray for her successful surgery. She is 93 and had two of her sons and families over for Christmas!! Said today she had to bake two more  pies for someplace!  More power to her is all I can say!!

The choices we make will affect our lives for better or for worse. Lord, You

have given me all that I need to make wise choices. May I always take time

to listen to You.

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the
mountains shake in the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and
foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult."  ~Psalm 46:1-3

We can constantly claim God's strength.  Once convinced of the right
of a course of action, once reasonably sure of God's guidance, we can
claim that strength.  We can claim all the strength we need to meet
any situation. We can claim a new supply when our own supply is
exhausted.  We have a right to claim it and we can use this right.  A
beggar supplicates, a son appropriates.  When we supplicate, we can be
kept waiting, but when we appropriate God's strength in a good cause,
we can have it at once.

I pray that I may claim God's strength whenever I need it.  I pray
that I may try to live as a child of God.

Novena in Urgent Need to the Infant Jesus of Prague (Repeat this prayer each day for nine consecutive days, or each hour for nine consecutive hours.) Jesus, You said, "Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you." Through the intercession of Mary, Your holy Mother, I knock, I seek, I ask that my prayer be granted. (mention your request)

Jesus, You said, "All that you ask of the Father in My name, He will grant you." Through the intercession of Mary, Your holy Mother, I humbly and urgently ask Your Father in Your name that my prayer be granted. (mention your request)

Jesus, you said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My word shall not pass." Through the intercession of Mary, Your holy Mother, I feel confident that my prayer will be granted. (mention your request)

AFTER CHRISTMAS POEM
Author Unknown

'Twas the month after Christmas, and all through the house,
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.

The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste,
At the holiday parties had gone to my waist.

When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).

I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared,
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared.

The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese,
And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."

As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt,
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt.

I said to myself, as I only can,
"You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!"

So--away with the last of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip.

Every last bit of food that I like must be banished,
'Till all the additional ounces have vanished.

 I won't have a cookie--not even a lick,
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.

I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.

I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore,
But isn't that what January is for?

Unable to giggle, no longer a riot,
Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!

December 28 - Jesus Calling

I am your refuge and strength, an ever-present Help in trouble. Therefore, you don’t need to be afraid of anything—not even cataclysmic circumstances. The media are increasingly devoted to fear-inducing subject matter: terrorism, serial killers, environmental catastrophes. If you focus on such dangers and forget that I am your Refuge in all circumstances, you will become increasingly fearful. Every day I manifest My grace in countless places and situations, but the media take no notice. I shower not only blessings but also outright miracles on your planet.

As you grow closer to Me, I open your eyes to see more and more of My Presence all around you. Things that most people hardly notice, like shifting shades of sunlight, fill you with heart-bursting Joy. You have eyes that see and ears that hear, so proclaim My abiding Presence in the world.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
—Psalm 46:1–3

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord.
—Psalm 89:15
