Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello my friends!  How was your day?  Beautiful out now!  I'm happy that my daughter, Lori, will be here for supper tonight - Jeremy is out of town for the week on business.  That's my blessing today among other ones, like a good nap with Sammy!  He always wants to nap with me! I was up early and was so tired I couldn't function!!  Ever feel like that?  What are your blessings for the day?

If you would be ashamed to sign your name to your conversation, don't say it.
Lord, my words can have far reaching effects.  May the effect always be good.

S C R I P T U R E   F O R   T H E   D A Y

"No slave can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one
and love the other, or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You
cannot serve God and wealth."  ~Luke 16:13

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

Sometimes we'd like the full and complete satisfaction that we can find
in serving God and all the satisfactions of the world as well.  It is
not easy to serve both God and the world.  It is difficult to claim the
rewards of both.  If we work for God, we can still have great rewards in
the world.  We can also be prepared to sometimes stand apart from the
world.  If we turn to the world for all the rewards which life has to
offer we can be disappointed.  If we try sincerely to serve God, we can
have other and greater rewards than the world has to offer.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that I may not expect too much from the world.  I pray that I may
be content with the rewards that come from serving God.

Permanent Address

A young woman completing a job application came to the line asking
for her "Permanent address." She began to list her street and house
number but paused for a moment. Then, with a small smile she wrote,
"HEAVEN."

She understood that Heaven is a real place... and the ultimate home
of God's children.

No place on earth is truly home for those who belong to God's family.
The Bible says that we are travelers... just passing through. Heaven
is the ultimate, eternal destination for those who love God. In fact,
their time on earth is like one small dot on a continuous,
never-ending line.

Is God the landlord of your permanent home? If not, then the time is
Right to start investing in the future. Ask God to wash you clean and
forgive your trespasses and sins so that you will be suitably clothed
for Heaven's splendor. Ask Him to make you His child through the sacrifice
of His Son. Ask Him to reserve a place for you, so that you can be
with Him forever.

Heaven is the best home of all because God lives there. It is filled
with hope and joy and peace and love, and it's forever. Start planning
for your future today!

"TELL HIM"

Dust off your faith....

Tell the devil today, he is a liar!  He will not take your joy, your
peace or disturb your spirit.

Tell him he cannot sleep in your bed - there's not enough cover.

Tell him he cannot sit in your chair - you will not give him a
cushion of comfort.

Tell him he can't touch your body - it's covered with the Blood.

Tell him he cannot audit your finances - you've changed accountants.

Tell him he cannot enter your home - the lock's have been changed.

Tell him to leave your workplace - he's not on your list of things
to do for today.

Tell him to take his hands off your children - because you've had
hands laid on.

Tell him you have no time for his nonsense, criticism or fears - you
are on a mission, and you walk by faith.

Tell him no more tears, heartaches, or headaches - because there's
another He, that restoreth your soul.
Tell him.  Tell him.  Tell him.  Tell him.

Tell him, today, you have a gentle, powerful inner peace within,
that consumes you and leaves no room for confusion.

Tell him, today you will - respond soothingly to a crying child, a
tense spouse, or an impatient friend.

Tell him, today, you will find no fault with a relative, friend, or
colleague.

Tell him to leave your tongue alone - for today you will not talk of
anyone, before placing God at the beginning of your thought.

Tell him, wherever you are, that God Is.

Tell him, God said, "My people will abide in a peaceful
habitation...and in quiet resting places." [Isaiah 32:18]

Today, Tell him he is a liar!!!

"I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace.  In the
world you face persecution.  But take courage; I have conquered the
world!" [John 16:33]

GOD KNOWS WHAT IS BEST FOR US!
By David Wilkerson

There are times when God takes things from us and other times when we pray for things we think we need and God does not give them to us. Nevertheless “…the Lord knows the way of the righteous” (Psalm 1:6). One day God’s action will prove to be for the benefit of us and for His kingdom!

The truest satisfaction in life comes from being in the perfect will of God, doing His work, living according to His choosing. But most of us are convinced that only we know what we need in order to be fulfilled and happy. And, in most cases, what we believe is best for us actually would ruin us! Never in the history of mankind has God taken anything from one of His children without bringing in something better, more beautiful, more fulfilling.

God’s best is not something to fear; He not only knows what is best for you, He wants you to have His best! If we truly believed this it would produce such rest, peace and joy in us! We would not grieve over letting go of things; we would know we’ve been set free from all bondage! We would say, “Lord, if You are taking this from me, it must mean You have something much better for me. So take it—You can have it!”

Beloved, we need to rest in the loving hand of our Father! We need to come to the point of trust where we say, “I have a loving Father who wants the very best for me. He knows it all!” How did Job finally come to a place of rest? He persuaded himself that God knew what He was doing and that everything was under control! Job said “But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold” (Job 23:10).

Many Christians see God at work in their lives yet they still wonder, “What if I blow it? What if I do something wrong and God gets angry or impatient with me? Will all His promises fail me? Will I have to settle for something less than His best?” No—never! If your heart is right before God, if you keep returning to Him and seeking Him with all your heart, nothing will change His plans for you!

June 8

I want you to be all Mine, filled with the Light of My Presence. I gave everything for you by living as a man, then dying for your sins and living again. Hold back nothing from Me. Bring your most secret thoughts into the Light of My Love. Anything you bring to Me I transform and cleanse from darkness. I know everything about you, far more than you know of yourself. But I restrain My yearning to “fix” you, waiting instead for you to come to Me for help. Imagine the divine restraint this requires, for I have all Power in heaven and on earth.

Seek My Face with a teachable spirit. Come into My Presence with thanksgiving, desiring to be transformed.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”
-Matthew 28:18

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
-Psalm 100:4

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Gloriajean, how are your eyes doing?  Nice Wednesday here in MA.  School is winding down and while I am looking forward to a kind of break(my summer jobs begin soon enough), I will miss the kids and the teachers.

My blessings for the day are simple like a good book and reading in the evening. My 2 cats, Faith and Virginia who make me laugh each day and love to sleep with me each night.  I am learning to be grateful for every day and each and every blessing and all the miracles.  Some days are easier than others but really, it is all good!

To all, happy day and I wish you all much joy and peace and many little miracles that fill your day.  Enjoy!

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Good Thursday afternoon! Had a hair appointment this morning so am late today. I'm with Nancy about being thankful for each day and all the blessings, large and small. We're having a beautiful day here today, high 80s and low humidity.

I've got a new bluebird family that has moved into the bird house so am spending lots of time watching their antics. Trying to stay away from their house to give them their space. I put a hummingbird feeder at my kitchen window and enjoy all the activity during the day.

Even with these long days, I still feel I don't have enough hours in a day, I love the long spring days. I understand about being tired, Gloria. I love my afternoon naps but wonder why I need to take them when I'm not that busy, haha. Some days I feel so exhausted and have no idea why. I'm working on giving myself permission to take a capnap when I want one.

Hope you're all having a nice spring day, summer arrives in a couple weeks and I'll miss our perfect springtime weather. I love the summer but it's usually a bit too hot for my liking, this old body doesn't handle heat very well any longer. Enjoy this day!

Lovely day in MA and hope you have all had a nice day.  Good day and a peaceful evening so far.  Just grateful for it all. I love coming home from work and being greeted by 2 rather wonderful cats.  Makes whatever happened at work a distant memory!

Hope you all are having a blessed Thursday and that Friday brings you joy and peace.

Take care, Nancy

Loved coming here tonight and seeing your posts!

My eye seems to be doing better with the drops, but I can only have the drops until Tuesday - then we will wait and see if it did the job.
