Hello my friends! Was a busy day today - both girls up at once, Lori came just in time this afternoon to help out! We had a nice visit, then Darla came up to pump, and she stayed up with us. The twins were up for 3 hours straight between feedings, and fussy. Hope Darla won't have a hard time tonight with them. In the morning I have my PT appointment - hope she can help my knee as well as she's helping my husband with his hip which is doing great! I'm really tired tonight - praying for you all.
May God grant your every wish according to His Holy Will.
Unhappiness within comes out in an emotional reaction, unlike the happy person
who is slow to anger. Lord, help me to glow in Your presence so that the heat of
the moment doesn't get to me.

"The effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness,
quietness and trust forever." ~Isaiah 32:17
M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y
"The effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness,
quietness and trust forever." Only when the soul attains this calm, can
there be true spiritual work done, and mind and soul and body be strong to
conquer and bear all things. Peace is the result of righteousness. There
is no peace in wrong doing, but if we live the way God wants us to live,
quietness and assurance can follow. Assurance is that calmness born of a
deep certainty of God's strength available to us and in God's power to love
and guard us from all harm and wrong doing.

I pray that I may attain a state of true calmness. I pray that I may live
in quietness and peace.
Family Prayer
Once a little boy of five was left alone with his father at bedtime. It had
never happened before.
After some maneuvering and a lot of fun, the father finally got the little
fellow into his night clothes and was about to lift him into bed when the
child said, "But, Daddy, I have to say my prayers."
So he knelt down beside the bed, folded his hands, raised his eyes to
heaven, and prayed the usual "Now I lay me down to sleep." But tonight he
took another look at his Dad, then continued to pray, "And, dear God, make
me a great big good man like my daddy. Amen."
In a moment he was in bed and within five minutes, asleep. Then the father
knelt by his son's bedside and prayed, "Dear Lord, make me a great big good
man, like my boy thinks I am."
Dear Lord Jesus,
May we stand before you in our brokenness,
our weakness and our fragile humanity.
We are sorrowful for all the times we've disappointed you.
We pray that the next time we are tempted to gossip, to accuse, to judge or to despise another,
we may instead be strengthened with the Grace of the Holy Spirit to speak words of godliness
and to act with Charity.
May we make Love the motive for every decision we choose in our lives.
Amen

2 Corinthians 13:4 - For even though it was in weakness that he was put to death on the cross, it is by God's power that he lives. In union with him we also are weak; but in our relations with you we shall share God's power in his life.

Efficacious prayer to Mary Queen of our Hearts
Ô Mary Queen of our Hearts, advocate of the most hopeless cases; Mother so pure, so compassionate, Mother of Divine Love and full of Divine Light, I place in thy tender hands the favors which I ask of Thee today.
Behold our miseries, our hearts, our tears, our interior trials and sufferings! We know that Thou canst hear us through the merits of Thy Divine Son Jesus Christ. We promise, if we are heard, to spread Thy Glory, and to make Thee known under the title of Mary Queen of our Hearts and Queen of the entire universe.
We beseech Thee to grant us our requests, at Thy Altar, where each day Thou givest such manifold proofs of Thy power and Love for the health of the soul and body.
We shall hope against all hope, ô Mary Queen. Our Queen, ask of Jesus our cure, our pardon and our final perseverance.
Ô Mary Queen of our hearts, cure us, we have confidence in Thee. (Repeat 3 times).
Recite this prayer for nine consecutive days, go to confession and receive Holy Communion.
IMPRIMATUR: P.J. Monahan Archbishop of Regina
June 9 th. 1942.
The Fire
------------
A couple, whom we shall call John and Mary, had a nice
home and two lovely children, a boy and a girl. John
had a good job and had just been asked to go on a
business trip to another city and would be gone for
several days. It was decided that Mary needed an
outing and would go along too. They hired a reliable
woman to care for the children and made the trip,
returning home a little earlier than they had planned.
As they drove into their home town feeling glad to be
back, they noticed smoke, and they went off their
usual route to see what it was. They found a home in
flames. Mary said, "Oh well it isn't our fire, let's
go home."
But John drove closer and exclaimed, "That home
belongs to Fred Jones who works at the plant. He
wouldn't be off work yet, maybe there is something we
could do." "It has nothing to do with us." Protested
Mary. "You have your good clothes on lets not get any
closer."
But John drove up and stopped and they were both
horror stricken to see the whole house in flames. A
woman on the lawn was in hysterics screaming, "The
children! Get the children!" John grabbed her by the
shoulder saying, "Get a hold of yourself and tell us
where the children are!" "In the basement," sobbed the
woman, "down the hall and to the left."
In spite of Mary's protests John grabbed the water
hose and soaked his clothes, put his wet handkerchief
on his head and bolted for the basement which was full
of smoke and scorching hot. He found the door and
grabbed two children, holding one under each arm like
the football player he was. As he left he could hear
some more whimpering. He delivered the two badly
frightened and nearly suffocated children into waiting
arms and filled his lungs with fresh air and started
back asking how many more children were down there.
They told him two more and Mary grabbed his arm and
screamed, "John! Don't go back! It's suicide! That
house will cave in any second!"
But he shook her off and went back by feeling his way
down the smoke filled hallway and into the room. It
seemed an eternity before he found both children and
started back. They were all three coughing and he
stooped low to get what available air he could. As he
stumbled up the endless steps the thought went through
his mind that there was something strangely familiar
about the little bodies clinging to him, and at last
when they came out into the sunlight and fresh air, he
found that he had just rescued his own children.
The baby-sitter had left them at this home while she
did some shopping.

August 31 - Jesus Calling
Grow strong in your weakness. Some of My children I’ve gifted with abundant strength and stamina. Others, like you, have received the humble gift of frailty. Your fragility is not a punishment, nor does it indicate lack of faith. On the contrary, weak ones like you must live by faith, depending on Me to get you through the day. I am developing your ability to trust Me, to lean on Me, rather than on your understanding. Your natural preference is to plan out your day, knowing what will happen when. My preference is for you to depend on Me continually, trusting Me to guide you and strengthen you as needed. This is how you grow strong in your weakness.
Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happentomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”
—James 4:13–15
Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
—Proverbs 3:5 amp
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
—Isaiah 40:28–31

@meallen616, I loved your Welcome to September!
We had rain yesterday, too, Harlene, which we needed. It was one of those rains that lasted a couple hours, not too heavy, no lightning. It was perfect! We're having cooler weather today, so I'm really looking forward to my cemetery walk.
Enjoy your day, everyone!

Thank you all so much for birthday wishes for Faith and Virginia. Mostly, thank you for a safe and friendly place to come, read some wonderful prayers and inspirations and hear from kindhearted women who are supportive. You are all gifts to me even in my short time of being a part of this thread. My days are brighter because you are part of them. Thank you!
