Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello my friends!  Well today I enjoyed an extra day off of Linus's for the week, a nice relaxing one, and I made a chicken soup - do you always make noodles in your soups? I lots of times just have veggies in it, but he asked for noodles which we have none but spagetti noodles, so I broke them up and put them in, they are whole wheat ones. The soup is very organic and nutritious. I even put some chopped up spinach and kale in it, all was good!  Do any of you use kale and spinach in your dishes?  Maybe you could give me some ideas?  The drops for my right eye seem to help, I do hope it's working.

Tomorrow will be a very busy day - we will pick up Darla and take her to her ultrasound, and her doctor's appt. and help in the house and mow her lawn, her husband isn't coming home as soon as they thought.

Good thing she's not in Texas anymore!!!

Keep yourself young in spirit always by thinking new thoughts and getting
rid of old habits. Lord, may my spirit never become a frail and my abilities
never become barren.

"Jesus turned and said to Peter, 'Get behind me, Satan! You are a
stumbling block to me; for you are setting your mind not on divine things
but on human things. 'Then Jesus told his disciples, 'If any want to become
my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow
me.  For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose
their life for my sake will find it.'"  ~Matthew 16:23-25

We were born with the Divine within us.  Living a selfish life can hinder
the Divine from being expressed and shared.  The celestial fire has to be
tended and fed so that it will grow into a real desire to live the right
way.  By trying to do the will of God, we grow more and more in the new way
of life.  By thinking of God, praying to God and having communion with God,
we gradually grow more like God.  The way of our transformation from the
material to the spiritual allows God to work in and through us.

I pray that I may tend the spark of the Divine within me so that it will
grow.  I pray that I may be gradually transformed from the old life to the
new and fuller life.

PRAYER  TO  MARY  CONSOLER OF THE AFFLICTED

O Immaculate Mary, Dear Mother, Consoler , I take refuge  in your  most
lovable  Heart  with all the trust of which  I am capable .You shall be
dearest  object of my   love and my veneration.

From you , the dispenser  of  heavenly treasures , I shall always  seek
peace  in my troubles, light in my doubts, defence  in my dangers, help in
my needs .

Be therefore my refuge  my strength, my consolation  O Mary Consoler .

At the hour  of my death , graciously receive  the last beats  of my  heart,
and obtain for me  a place  in  that heavenly country, where as one , all
hearts  shall praise  forever  the  adorable Heart  of Jesus , with your
most lovable Heart , O Mary , my Mother, Consoler of the Afflicted  ,
pray   for us , who  have recourse  to you

In Christ we have . . .
A love that can never be fathomed,
A life that can never die,
A righteousness that can never be tarnished,
A peace that can never be understood,
A rest that can never be disturbed,
A joy that can never be diminished,
A hope that can never be disappointed,
A glory that can never be clouded,
A light that can never be darkened,
A purity that can never be defiled,
A beauty that can never be marred,
A wisdom that can never be baffled,
Resources that can never be exhausted.
Jesus is our all in all!

I've learned....

I've learned....
that I feel better about myself when I
make others feel better about themselves.

I've learned....
that what we have done for ourselves alone dies with us. What
we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.

I've learned....
that one sincere apology is worth
more than all the roses money can buy.

I've learned....
that being kind is more important than being right.

I've learned....
that you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I've learned....
that I can always pray for someone when I don't have the
strength to help him in some other way.

I've learned....
that no matter how serious your life requires you to be,
everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I've learned....
that sometimes all a person needs is a hand to
hold and a heart to understand.

I've learned....
that the things I judge, are done by people just like me.

I've learned....
that we should be glad God doesn't
give us everything we ask for.

I've learned....
that money doesn't buy class.

I've learned....
that it's those small daily happenings
that make life so spectacular.

I've learned....
that once a relationship is over, if you experienced more
smiles than tears, then it wasn't a waste of time.

I've learned....
that under everyone's hard shell is someone who
wants to be appreciated and loved.

I've learned....
never to humiliate another person. Always give him an honorable
way to back down or out of something and still save face.

I've learned....
that the Lord didn't do it all in one day.

What makes me think I can?

I've learned....
that when you plan to get even with someone, you are only
letting that person continue to hurt you.
and...mostly,

I've learned that I have good friends

Have you learned anything ?????

Verse of the Day

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Matthew 6:19-21

May 11

Thank Me for your problems. As soon as your mind gets snagged on a difficulty, bring it to Me with thanksgiving. Then ask Me to show you My way to handle the situation. The very act of thanking Me releases your mind from its negative focus. As you turn your attention to Me, the problem fades in significance and loses its power to trip you up. Together we can deal with the situation, either facing it head-on or putting it aside for later consideration.

Most of the situations that entangle your mind are not today’s concerns; you have borrowed them from tomorrow. In this case, I lift the problem out of today and deposit it in the future, where it is veiled from your eyes. In its place I give you My Peace, which flows freely from My Presence.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
—Philippians 4:6

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
—John 14:27

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

I put noodles in my chili, but not soups.

Hope Darla's ultrasound and Dr. appt. go well, I know they will. Please give us an update and have a wondeful day.
