Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello my friends! Had a nice birthday dinner with Lori, just the family - she had her meal free there.  Then went to Darla's to help her with some things, and home again.  Tomorrow morning my sister, Ethel, is having total knee replacement surgery - please pray for it to be successful and fast recupperation.  She is 89.  Our colds are getting better but still there, just takes time. Thanks to God they didn't get worse.  Linus got one, but very mild, his voice is low now.  My coughs are getting more seldom!  Thanks for your prayers.

Never let the abundance of gifts from God cause you to forget the Giver.
Lord, may I start and end each day with a thank you to You for all of my
blessings including those which I take for granted.

"Help me, O LORD my God! Save me according to your steadfast love."
~Psalm 109:26

I can depend on God to supply me with all the power I need to face any
situation, provided that I will sincerely believe in that power and honestly
ask for it, at the same time making all my life conform to what I believe
God wants me to be.  I can come to God as a business manager would come to
the owner of the business, knowing that to lay the matter before God means
immediate cooperation, providing the matter has merit.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that I may believe that God is ready and willing to supply me with
all that I need.  I pray that I may ask only for faith and strength to meet
any situation.

Jesus Is My Everything

He is my Song that I sing
He is the Joy that a new day brings

He is my Strength when I am weak
He is my Voice when I speak

He is my Friend when I need a hug
He is my Lover, when I need real love

He is the Lawyer who pleads my case
He is the only Righteous Judge who forgives me, then all me sins He erases

He is the Doctor who heals my wounds
He is my Redeemer, and He's coming back soon

He is my Comforter when I'm feeling down
He is my Angel that is ever-present, always around

He is my Provider always supplying when I need help
He is my Water, my Bread, stored up on the shelf

He is my Teacher, who shows me what to do
He is my Encourager, when I really don't want to

He is that Fire burning deep down in my soul
He is my Fortune-teller, for in His hands, my future He holds

He is the Repairman who comes to fix my stuff
He is the Everlasting Father, who is more than enough

He is the Prince of Peace, yes a Peacemaker is He
He is my Eyes, my Light, my Pathway, when I can't see

He is my Mighty Counselor when I need some advice
He is my Debt Consolidator, for He paid the ultimate price

He is my Hope for tomorrow
He is my Everflowing Income, so I don't have to beg, steal, nor borrow

He is the Mercy which He renews for me everyday
He is my Truth, my Life, the Only Way

He is the Warden, who unlocks the chains and sets me free
He is my Role Model, for I always look up to Thee

He is the Author, the Finisher of my faith
He is the Patience that always tells me to wait

Jesus is my Everything, although with my natural eyes, Him, I cannot see
Jesus is my Everything, my Everything, Everything I want to be

STILL HE WALKED
-- Author Unknown

He could hear the crowds screaming "crucify" "crucify"...
He could hear the hatred in their voices,
These were his chosen people.
He loved them,
And they were going to crucify him.
He was beaten, bleeding and weakened... his heart was broken,
But still He walked.

He could see the crowd as he came from the palace.
He knew each of the faces so well.
He had created them.
He knew every smile, laugh, and shed tear,
But now they were contorted with rage and anger...his heart broke,
But still He walked.

Was he scared?
You and I would have been
So his humanness would have mandated that he was. He felt alone.
His disciples had left, denied, and even betrayed him.
He searched the crowd for a loving face and he saw very few.
Then he turned his eyes to the only one that mattered
And he knew that he would never be alone.
He looked back at the crowd, at the people who were spitting
At him, throwing rocks at him and mocking him and he knew
That because of him, they would never be alone.
So for them, He walked.

The sounds of the hammer striking the spikes echoed through
The crowd. The sounds of his cries echoed even louder,
The cheers of the crowd, as his hands and feet
Were nailed to the cross, intensified with each blow.
Loudest of all was the still small voice inside his
Heart that whispered "I am with you, my son",
And God's heart broke.
He had let his son walk.

Jesus could have asked God to end his suffering,
But instead he asked God to forgive.
Not to forgive him, but to forgive the ones who were persecuting him.
As he hung on that cross, dying an unimaginable death,
He looked out and saw, not only the faces in the crowd,
But also, the face of every person yet to be,
And his heart filled with love.
As his body was dying, his heart was alive.
Alive with the limitless, unconditional love he feels for each of us.
That is why He walked.

When I forget how much My God loves me,
I remember his walk.
When I wonder if I can be forgiven,
I remember his walk.
When I need reminded of how to live like Christ,
I think of his walk.
And to show him how much I love him,
I wake up each morning, turn my eyes to him,
And I walk.

5 Ways To Live A Holier Life

Make more time for prayer:
Spending time together is the best way to get to know God better.

Practice sharing:
God wants us to take care of each other. Look for more ways to share your money, time, and talents with someone who needs them.

Celebrate the Sacraments:
Make Sunday Mass the highlight of your week. Go to confession and celebrate God´s forgiving spirit.

Be a voice in the wilderness :
When you notice and  injustice, be the first one to speak out and take action. Treat all people with the dignity they deserve as children of God.

Share your faith :
Talk about God with anyone who wants to listen. We shouldn´t keep his love all to ourselves. There´s more than enough to go around.

---The Secret of Sanctity and Happiness---

I am going to reveal to you the secret of sanctity and happiness. Every day for five minutes, control your imagination and close your eyes to the things of sense and your ears to all noises of the world, in order to enter into yourself. Then, in the sanctity of your baptized soul (which is the temple of the Holy Spirit) speak to that Divine Spirit, saying to Him:
Oh, Holy Spirit, beloved of my soul...
I adore You. Enlighten me, guide me
strengthen me, console me. Tell me what
I should do...give me Your orders. I
Promise to submit myself to all that You
desire of me and to accept all that You
permit to happen to me. Let me only
know Your will.

If you do this, your life will flow along happily, serenely and full of consolation, even in the midst of trials. Grace will be proportioned to the trial, giving you the strength to carry it and you will arrive at the gate of Paradise, laden with merit. This submission to the Holy Spirit is the secret of sanctity. - Cardinal Mercier

Our Lady's Lenten Message:

"Dear children! This Lent is a special incentive for you to change.
Start from this moment. Turn off the television and renounce various
things that are of no value. Dear children, I am calling you
individually to conversion. This season is for you.

Thank you for having responded to my call."

Daily Prayer

Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee.
Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King.
Take my lips, and let them be filled with messages from Thee.
Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect, and use every power as Thou shalt choose.
Take my will, and make it Thine; it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own; it shall be Thy royal throne.
Take my love, my Lord, I pour at Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for Thee.

A Prayer for Lent

Dear Lord, at times I feel as though I have lost my way, the world is pulling me hither and thither. Help me to understand that You have a wonderful plan for me and that the pathways I walk are all part of that plan. If I focus on You as my guide, Lord, the twists and turns will carry me along the right path. Help me always to seek the guidance of Your Holy Spirit in all my decisions. Give me the strength to keep my eyes in Your direction and my hand in Yours.

Verse of the Day

"Blessed are those who trust in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. They shall be like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots by the stream. It shall not fear when heat comes, and its leaves shall stay green; in the year of drought it is not anxious, and it does not cease to bear fruit."

Jeremiah 17:7-8

Hope everyone in the storm area last night is alright.

We only lost a couple of pieces of siding.

Lancaster Pa. got it with a Tornado. Our prayers go out to them.

Blessings to all.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Ethel just called me - her surgery is cancelled. They have a lot more prep work to do on her before she can have the surgery and didn't have the time.  If everything works out well after all the work is done, then they'll reschedule her.  If she could have it done without all that work, they say she could end up with a stroke, so good they are being very thorough with her being she's going to be 89 in March. Keep the prayers going and I thank you much!
