Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello my friends!  Today was Gordy's (Linda's husband) heart surgery - been praying for his successful surgery and also put him on the prayer line as she requested. Haven't heard anything yet how he is.  Was going to go to the exercise room today but chickened out - shame on me.  Maybe tomorrow sometime if time permits, Dentist appt. in the morning. Hope your day is going well for all of you!  God bless you for all you do!

As you draw closer and closer to God, you won't have to tell anyone
because it will show in your face.  Lord, teach me Your ways as I am
ready and let Your love and peace flow through me even in my difficult
moments.

"I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

I can believe that my faith in God's power can accomplish anything.
There is no limit to what these two things can do.  When we believe,
anything can happen.  Saint Paul said: "I can do all things through him who
strengthens me."  All walls that divide us from other human beings can fall
by our faith and God's power.  These are the two essentials.
Everyone an be moved by these.

I pray that I may try to strengthen my faith day by day.  I pray that I may
rely more and more on God's power.

With a Little Help from My Friends

I was sitting in a train, waiting for it to start. Across from me sat a
small boy, asking questions as children do. He asked his mother, "When will
the train start?" I saw my chance and volunteered to answer. I said, "The
train will start when we start pushing." The child opened his big eyes in
surprise, "Really!" "Of course," I said. "Unless we push, it doesn't start."
"Then let's push," he exclaimed.

"Just a minute," I said. "The passengers are not all on. I'll tell you when
to push." I watched for the signal light at the station and heard the
station master's shrill whistle. Then I shouted to the boy, "Now! Push for
all you're worth." He and I started to push in the direction of the engine.
We pushed and pushed against the back of the seat .... and soon a contented
smile lit up the boy's face. The train was moving ... very slowly at first,
but then gaining speed little by little.

I congratulated the lad on his success. "We DID it! We DID it! Wasn't that
great?" he exclaimed. He looked immensely pleased with himself. He was
traveling in a train he had helped to start. I did not have the heart to
tell him about the monstrous engine chugging up in front. Eventually he
would find out for himself...

We usually attribute great success to our little actions, forgetting that
behind them all is that almighty unseen power called God, whose power often makes us look powerful.

The question isn't who is going to let me;
it's who is going to stop me.

why go at all?

If you cannot do great things yourself,
remember that you may do small things in a great way.

Lord Jesus, You are the Alpha and Omega

Lord Jesus, You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. to you belong all times and all seasons. We thank you for your continued presence with us in the Eucharist. In this great sacrament of your love, and in your Church, you are always present with us, always the same, yet always renewing your Church.

Help us, Lord Jesus, to remain faithful to the Gospel, to the word of God which remains for ever. Help us, too, to realize that your word is alive and active. Give us the grace to understand that you are with us today, as you once were in Nazareth, telling us that God´s saving word is to our own day too. Amen.

Prayer to Obtain the Grace of all World Masses

Eternal Father we humbly offer Thee our poor presence and that of the whole of humanity from the beginning to the end of the world at all the Masses that ever have or ever will be prayed. We offer Thee all the pains, suffering, prayers, sacrifices, joys and relaxation’s of our lives, in union with those of our dear Lord Jesus here on earth. May the Most precious Blood of Christ, all His Blood and wounds and agony save us, through the sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary - Amen.

January 20 - Jesus Calling

Approach this day with awareness of who is Boss. As you make plans for the day, remember that it is I who orchestrate the events of your life. On days when things go smoothly, according to your plans, you may be unaware of My sovereign Presence. On days when your plans are thwarted, be on the lookout for Me! I may be doing something important in your life, something quite different from what you expected. It is essential at such times to stay in communication with Me, accepting My way as better than yours. Don’t try to figure out what is happening. Simply trust Me and thank Me in advance for the good that will come out of it all. I know the plans I have for you, and they are good.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
—Isaiah 55:9–11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
—Jeremiah 29:11

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Will be praying for both Linda and Gordy.

Well now they tell us to expect 18" of snow, starting   Friday and all day Saturday.

Of course I won't believe it until I see it. They are wrong so often. LOL.

Blessings to all.
