Daily Positive Thread for Sunday``

Hello my friends!  Lazy day here for me today, started to feel a little bit like something is coming on so I took a power pac of Vit. C, zinc, etc. to fight it off.  I cannot get sick.  NO, I just cannot get sick.  I'll be okay - just resting tonight, and tomorrow is only Mass, nothing else is going on.  I keep thinking of what cute new thing the twins will do next!!!  Be wonderful if they slept through the night!  Smiling, cooing, what's the next thing?  They make eye contact and they listen.  Was told they need more tummy time, they don't like it, they've been on their back all this time, and in a recline.  But Tummy times should be fit into their schedule.  They have to get used to it as it's good for them. Today's blessing - quiet day at home while he's working.  What are your blessings?

God gives abundantly to those who pass His gifts on to others.  Lord, let

Your blessings flow in to me and then out from me.  I will neither be selfish

nor let my gifts stagnate.

"It is God's will that by doing right you should silence the ignorance
of the foolish.  As servants of God, live as free people, yet do not use
your freedom as a pretext for evil.  Honor everyone."  ~1 Peter 2:15-17

Each new days brings an opportunity to do some little thing that will
help to make a better world, that will bring God's kingdom a little
nearer to being realized on earth.  We can take each day's happenings as
opportunities for something we can do for God.  In that spirit, a
blessing will attend all that we do.  When we offer this day's service
to God, we are sharing in God's work.  We do not have to do great
things.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that today I may do the next thing, the unselfish thing, the
loving thing.  I pray that I may be content with doing small things as
long as they are right.

Who You Are

Who do you think you are? Are you the problems you encountered yesterday, or are you the positive possibilities that exist today?

Are you the limitations that others have convinced you to adopt? Or are you the person who can work your way through whatever obstacles may confront you?

Are you the shortcomings and disappointments you've known? Or are you the most magnificent, most treasured dreams you can imagine?

Are you the empty, meaningless pursuits of the materialistic culture that surrounds you? Or are you the deeply held, lasting values you know to be truth?

Who you think you are can make all the difference, in this moment, in your life. Because who you think you are is who you constantly work to more fully become.

Who do you think you are? Choose right now to be the best you can imagine.

Prayer to St. Anthony for Those Suffering with Cancer

Dear St. Anthony, you recognized Our Lord Jesus as the Divine Healer. In your goodness and kindness, please intercede for (mention name) who is suffering from cancer.

If it is God's will, I ask that this day, the gift of healing be granted to (name). Comfort him/her during times of unbearable pain, and ask our Lord to grant him/her peace and patience in suffering.

May God give (name) the fullness of life here on earth, or call him/her home to eternal glory forever. Amen.

Do it Today

In a class I teach for adults, I gave the assignment to "go

to someone you love, and tell them that you love them." At the

beginning of the next class, one of the students began by saying, "I

was angry with you last week when you gave us this assignment. I

didn't feel I had anyone to say those words to. But as I began driving

home my conscience started talking. Then I knew exactly who I

needed to say `I love you' to.

Five years ago, my father and I had a vicious disagreement and never

really resolved it. We avoided seeing each other unless we absolutely

had to at family gatherings. We hardly spoke. So by the time I got

home, I had convinced myself I was going to tell my father I loved him.

"Just making that decision seemed to lift a heavy load off my chest.

"At 5:30, I was at my parents' house ringing the doorbell, praying that

Dad would answer the door. I was afraid if Mom answered, I would

chicken out and tell her instead. But as luck would have it, Dad did

answer the door. "I didn't waste any time - I took one step in the door

and said, `Dad, I just came over to tell you that I love you.' "It was as

if a transformation came over my dad. Before my eyes his face

softened, the wrinkles seemed to disappear and he began to cry. He

reached out and hugged me and said, `I love you too, son, but I've

never been able to say it.' "But that's not even my point. Two days

after that visit, my dad had a heart attack and is in the hospital. I don't

even know if he'll make it. "So my message to all of you is this: Don't

wait to do the things you know need to be done. What if I had waited

to tell my dad? Take the time to do what you need to do and do it

now!"

Father, May I Always Remember

Father,
May I always remember
that all the parts of my body are good because you made them,
that my body does not belong to me but to you,
who bought it at my Baptism
at the price of Christ's Cross
and that my body is the living temple of the Holy Spirit.
Give me self-control over my passions, appetites and imaginations;
give me respect for the opposite sex
and esteem for my own;
create in me that wholeness and integrity
that all my powers may be consecrated to your service
according to my state in life.
May Mary the Blessed Virgin Mother,
watch over me through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

- - -
Matthew 5:8 - "Happy are the pure in Heart; they will see God!"

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - Don't you know that your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God?  You do not belong to yourselves but to God; he has bought you for a price.  So use your bodies for God's glory.

Words of Mother Teresa

Right from the beginning since love begins at home. I think we should teach our children to love one another at home. I think this will strengthen our children so that they can give that love to others in the future.

I cannot remember now in what city I was,  but I do remember I did not see any children on the street. I missed the children very badly. While I was walking down the street, suddenly I saw a baby carriage. A young woman was pushing the carriage, and I crossed the street just to see the child. There was a little dog! Apparently the hunger in the heart of that woman had to be satisified. So not having a child, she looked for a substitute. She found a dog. I love dogs very much, but still I cannot bear seeing a dog given the place of a child. People are afraid of having children. Children have lost their place in the family. Children are so very, very lonely. When children come home from school, there is no one there to greet them. Then they go back to the streets. We must find our children again and bring them back home. Mothers are at the heart of the family. Children need their mothers. If the Mother is there, the children will be too. For the family to be whole, the children and the mother also need the father to be present in the home. I think if we can help to bring them all back together, we will be doing a beautiful thing for God.

Lessons to Learn Today

I will learn that true happiness is not always to achieve my goals, but to learn to appreciate with what I have achieved.

I will learn that I should control my attitude,
and not let my attitude control me.

I will learn that to be rich is not to have
the most, but to need the least.

I will learn that it is futile to compare myself to others, because there is always someone better or worse than I am.

I will learn that it takes years to build trust,
and a few seconds to destroy it.

I will learn that there are people who love me very much, but simply do not know how to show their feelings.

I will learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.

I will learn that I cannot make anyone love me,
but learn to let myself be loved.

I will learn that what is most valuable is not what I have in my life, but who I have in my life.

I will learn that it only takes a few seconds to hurt people I love, and that it can take years to heal.

You will not find My Peace by engaging in excessive planning: attempting to control what will happen to you in the future. That is a commonly practiced form of unbelief. When your mind spins with multiple plans, Peace may sometimes seem to be within your grasp; yet it always eludes you. Just when you think you have prepared for all possibilities, something unexpected pops up and throws things into confusion.

I did not design the human mind to figure out the future. That is beyond your capability. I crafted your mind for continual communication with Me. Bring Me all your needs, your hopes and fears. Commit everything into My care. Turn from the path of planning to the path of Peace.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

I too am getting a cold but bound to happen being at school once again. THose kids are germ magnets!  Get rest Gloriajean!

I spent 3 hours on the phone yesterday with HP computers! Time I will not get back and so frustrating.  My computer is 5 years old and cannot support the programs much longer and so my internet was disconnected so we had to disinstall( if that is even a word!) windows 10 and go back to windows 7 so now all my files won't work.  That means my resume, references, spreadsheets etc.  So, back to the beginning and I am overwhelmed but cannot do much about that now.  Oh well, it will be ok right?!!

Well, have a blessed day to all and I wish you much joy and peace.

Peace, Nancy

Nancy - sorry you were on the line so many hours.  How frustrating!  Hope you have a nice Sunday!! Have a nice Mass!  I know we will in an hour.

Harlene - yes, the Mall is not that faraway - it wasn't a bombing, but a Mulsem ran around with a knife and stabbed 8 people until a police officer shot and killed him. He cried "Allla" .  Eight got to the hospital, one had to be admitted.  The mall is still has a lockout, last I heard.

Glad none of my family went there last night.

Sorry Gloria I got confused with the bomb in New Jersey and the bomb in New York.

I'm glad you and your family are safe.

There is one way to stop this.

@gloriajean, I hope you are feeling better; get well fast!  Very few babies enjoy tummy time at first, but it strengthens core and neck muscles. And it helps shape those skull bones.

@meallen616, You outdid yourself today!  I love that picture.

@nj, I hope you, too, feel better soon and that your computer woes get taken care of. I wish I knew enough to help, but I haven't a clue about electronics.

Prayers for all today.
